Around three years after the first announcement of the smart home system TRÅDFRI, IKEA is reorganizing the range. A whole four new light sources will expand the portfolio in the future – the two popular “filament” models E27 250 lm and E27 600 lm, however, fly out of the program.
New version of the filament bulb also with E14 thread
The new edition of the TRÅDFRI series presents itself in a more modern look. Fans of the filament look can breathe easy, however: the new variants of the smart bulbs also rely on the familiar look.
Also new is a variant with an E14 base, which is offered at a price of 8 euros. Namely, it is the TRÅDFRI LED bulb E14 250 lm, which – just like the TRÅDFRI LED bulb E27 250 lm – relies on a clear glass look.
The new smart bulbs are complemented by two matte variations, which can be seen in the images above. Here they also rely on an E27 base with an output of up to 470 lumens.
Prices and availability
The two TRÅDFRI bulbs with clear glass optics are offered at a price of 8 euros, for the models with frosted glass the Swedes charge 12.99 euros. In the USA, the four new bulbs are already available, but there is no concrete date for Germany yet. However, it can be assumed that IKEA Germany will soon follow suit.
