At Meta, the topic of artificial intelligence (AI) seems to be a top priority. And in the truest sense of the word. After all, Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg himself is looking for suitable experts. He is not afraid to poach staff from rival tech company Google.
Meta is looking for AI personnel
The race in the AI sector has begun. Every tech company is currently concentrating on developing or improving its own AI solutions. Of course, Mark Zuckerberg also wants to be at the forefront. The Facebook founder and CEO is apparently even aiming to become the leading company in this field. But given the competition, this is of course not so easy. How can you compete with other big names such as Apple, Microsoft and Google? It’s quite simple: simply poach the staff with the relevant expertise.
Zuckerberg currently seems to be pursuing this strategy. But as the AI experts are of course aware of their value, Zuckerberg is really going all out in his attempts to poach them. He does not shy away from personally poaching new staff, as The Information now reports. The meta boss is said to write personal emails in which he asks talented people from the competition to work for him. He even wants to dispense with job interviews and offers to start work immediately.
More money as effective bait
Of course, it is questionable whether top talent in the field of artificial intelligence will really be successfully promoted by Zuckerberg’s personal approach and his decision to forego job interviews. As money also rules the world in the world of work, Meta is apparently also making a move in this area. Until now, it was unthinkable for the tech company to pay its employees more money if they received offers from the competition. Meta is now apparently abandoning these internal company guidelines in order to retain its top staff.
Meta believes in Nvidia
One of the most successful company developments in recent years can be attributed to Nvidia. The chip manufacturer’s success is not primarily due to the production of graphics cards. Rather, the company has demonstrated perfect timing and, with the H100 graphics processor, has become the market leader in the field of AI CPUs at the right time.

Any company that relies on AI cannot ignore the company’s technology at the moment. Meta is no exception. In an interview with The Verge, Zuckerberg has now revealed that the company plans to use over 340,000 chips of this type by the end of 2024. The focus on artificial intelligence could hardly be clearer. Let’s see how successful the tactic is and whether Meta can really take on its leading role.
