Xiaomi has unveiled two new foldable smartphones, the Mix Fold 4 and the Mix Flip, to rival Samsung’s sixth generation of foldables. These devices combine innovative technology with a slim design and are aimed at users who are looking for both performance and flexibility.

Design and display
The Mix Fold 4 impresses with a large, high-resolution foldable display that offers an impressive viewing experience. Despite the large display, the device remains slim and light. It is just 9.47 mm thin and weighs only 226 grams.
The improved hinge technology ensures a seamless folding mechanism and a long service life. The Mix Flip, on the other hand, has a more compact design that is easy to hold and ideal for on the go.
The Mix Fold 4 comes with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage and has a 6.56-inch OLED display on the outside with a resolution of 2,520 x 1,080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Inside, a 7.98-inch Samsung E7 LTPO panel is used, which has a resolution of 2,488 x 2,244 pixels and dynamically adjusts the frame rate between 1 Hz and 120 Hz.
The Mix Flip, on the other hand, has a 4.01-inch display on the outside with a resolution of 1,392 x 1,208 pixels and a frame rate of up to 120 Hz. It has a peak brightness of 3,000 nits and takes up the entire surface of the smartphone. Inside is a 6.86-inch display with 2,912 x 1,224 pixels.
Both models are characterized by their thin design, which makes them the slimmest foldable smartphones on the market. Xiaomi has placed great emphasis on an elegant and functional design that can be seamlessly integrated into everyday life.
Performance and camera
Under the hood, the Mix Fold 4 and Mix Flip offer powerful processors in the form of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which can handle even the most demanding tasks with ease. With large battery capacities of 5,100 mAh for the Mix Fold 4 and 4,780 mAh and optimized energy-saving functions, the devices are equipped for the whole day.
The advanced camera technology of both models enables razor-sharp photos and videos, even in low light conditions. Xiaomi has once again collaborated with Leica for the cameras.
The Mix Fold 4 scores with a high-resolution main camera and versatile shooting modes. The Mix Flip also offers impressive camera functions and is aimed at users who are looking for a compact device with powerful photo functions.
Price and availability
The new foldable smartphones from Xiaomi are available now, albeit only in China for the time being. The Mix Fold 4 starts at the equivalent of around 1,136 euros, while the Mix Flip is available at an entry-level price of around 760 euros.
