Himiway A7 Pro review: scope of delivery and setup

  • large parts pre-assembled
  • quick assembly

The Himiway A7 Pro is delivered partially assembled and needs to be put together before it can be used. However, this is very simple, especially as video instructions are available for assembly.

In fact, only the handlebars need to be fitted and the front wheel installed, which should not pose too many problems even for non-experts. The manufacturer includes all the accessories in a cardboard box.

The components are packed in a thick layer of polystyrene so that nothing can break during transportation. Once the assembly is complete, all that remains is to inflate the tires, adjust the seat and fit the mudguards. Then you’re ready to go.

Design and workmanship of the Himiway A7 Pro

  • Step-through frame
  • Elegant, sporty design that appeals
  • high-quality workmanship

The Himiway A7 Pro comes as a step-through e-bike with a flat entry and is therefore aimed equally at men and women. With its thick frame and curved edges, the e-bike has a very elegant appearance and looks much sportier than most city e-bikes. We like that.

Overall, the bike has a total length of 193 cm and a frame size of 61 cm, resulting in a handlebar height of at least 111 cm. The seat can be adjusted between a height of 61 cm and 72.8 cm so that people between 167 cm and 198 cm tall can sit comfortably.

Our test model looks great in dark orange. However, if you prefer a more subtle look, there are four other less gaudy colors to choose from.

The Himiway A7 Pro is shifted by chain. The large hydraulic brakes at the front and rear, which come with a 180 mm brake disk, also catch the eye. The e-bike also has a practical luggage rack that can carry a maximum of 25 kg.

There is also generous suspension at the front and rear, which can also be locked if required. This should ensure a comfortable ride even on cobblestones and uneven terrain.

There is a high-performance 48V LED front light on the handlebars, which ensures excellent visibility even in the dark. There is also an automatically illuminated brake light at the rear of the luggage carrier, which is automatically activated in the dark and lights up more brightly when braking.

The Himiway A7 Pro has an LC display integrated into the center of the handlebars, which shows important riding information such as speed, distance and battery status. There is also a bell on the handlebars and a control unit that can be used to switch the motor on and off, change gear or select one of the five support modes.

The e-bike is also made of high-quality aluminum, which guarantees a correspondingly impressive build quality. This applies not only to the robust frame, but also to the pedals and kickstand.

The features of the Himiway A7 Pro

  • Motor with high torque
  • high-quality components
  • 720 Wh battery for up to 80 km

The features of the Himiway A7 Pro leave nothing to be desired. Himiway equips the model with a 250 watt mid-motor, which enables a torque of a whopping 120 Nm. This allows the e-bike to conquer even steeper climbs with ease.

In accordance with the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO), a maximum speed of 25 km/h is of course possible, which can be conveniently adjusted in five riding modes using the control element. The manufacturer also uses high-quality components from well-known manufacturers, which speaks for the quality of the e-bike.

The 9-speed gearbox, for example, is made by Shimano and works quickly and reliably. Shimano is also responsible for the disc brakes, while the fork is an SR-SUNTOUR X1-BOOST with 120 mm travel.

The soft memory foam saddle is designed to ensure a comfortable ride. It can also be conveniently adjusted in height using a hydraulic lever and easily moved forwards and backwards. A 720 Wh power supply is used, which should provide a range of 80 kilometers. This means that the A7 Pro does not go quite as far as the Fiido C11, which we recently reviewed.

The battery is integrated into the frame and secured there with a lock, but can also be easily removed. The key must be pressed lightly into the e-bike to release the battery and remove it for charging. A useful system that ensures that the battery is not accidentally dropped on the ground.

Himiway also provides the e-bike with a permanently mounted rear wheel lock from ABUS, which protects the bike from theft and acts as a deterrent. Of course, no lock offers complete protection against theft.

Himiway A7 Pro riding comfort: comfortable and convenient

  • comfortable front and rear suspension
  • well balanced
  • generally very comfortable ride

Thanks to the soft memory foam saddle, pleasantly thick 27.5-inch Schwalbe tires and adjustable suspension, the Himiway A7 Pro delivered a really convincing ride comfort in the practical test.

The suspension does an excellent job of smoothing out bumps and potholes, allowing us to glide comfortably over them. With 120 mm of suspension travel, we are at mountain bike level, which makes the city bike a very comfortable companion and allows us to take the occasional ride on dirt tracks.

At the same time, the e-bike is very well-balanced so that comfort is maintained even at high speeds. Thanks to the powerful mid-motor, the acceleration is also absolutely impressive, meaning that the A7 Pro can easily cope with steeper climbs.

In combination with one or two additional batteries, it is also suitable for longer trips away from city traffic, but even there the e-bike is impressive across the board. Especially as the operation via the display and the control element is also completely convincing.

Himiway A7 Pro Review: Conclusion

The Himiway A7 Pro rightly bears the Pro moniker and is perhaps the best e-bike the manufacturer has built to date. The workmanship is impeccable and the sporty design is pleasing across the board, especially as it sets it apart from most typical e-bikes.

The equipment also leaves nothing to be desired, especially as high-quality components from well-known manufacturers are used. With its many features, the A7 Pro can easily keep up with significantly more expensive city e-bikes and also offers excellent riding comfort thanks to its double suspension and comfortable saddle.

The extensive range of accessories is also practical. From the high-quality ABUS lock to the luggage rack, while the motor power leaves nothing to be desired.
