Design and workmanship

  • True wireless open-ear headphones with ear hooks
  • Detachable neckband for an even better fit
  • Impressive material and workmanship quality

The soundcore AeroFit Pro are true wireless open-ear headphones with ear hooks. They are placed around the ear from above so that the ear hooks are behind the ear and the earphone speakers are in front of the ear canal. The ear hooks are made of a 0.7 mm thick memory wire and are designed to adapt to the shape of the ears; the surface is rubberized. Control is via two buttons, one button is located on the top of each earbud. In addition, the earphones each have four microphones to ensure clear voice recordings. The black version of the AeroFit Pro is completely matte black and only features a silver soundcore logo on the earphones and lettering on the ear hooks.

In addition, the earphones can be connected with a neckband, which is intended to provide an even better fit and wearing comfort. The neckband is attached to the ends of the ear hooks and is adjustable.

The charging case for the AeroFit Pro is slightly larger and more rectangular, measuring 65 x 80 x 24 mm. In the black color variant, the charging case and the earbuds are matt black and feature a silver soundcore logo; the surface is also rubberized. Magnets in the charging case position the earphones on the charging contacts when they are inserted. There is a button with an LED strip on the front, including one for opening the charging case, with the USB-C charging port underneath.

The material and workmanship quality of the soundcore AeroFit Pro is very good throughout. The plastic and the rubberized surface of the earphones have a high-quality look and feel. The charging case also looks high-quality and gives no cause for criticism.

Operation and setting options

  • 22 EQ modes and spatial audio

To pair the soundcore AeroFit Pro with a device, insert the open-ear headphones into the charging case, close the charging case and open it again. The LED strip of the charging case now flashes white, the open-ear headphones are in pairing mode and can be connected to the desired device. The AeroFit Pro can be connected to another device using Multipoint. If the open-ear headphones are paired with several devices, they will always connect to the last connected device.

As always, the soundcore app is available for smartphones. This shows all paired soundcore devices and enables extensive settings. The sound effects and controls can be adjusted within the app. The sound effects include a total of 22 different EQ modes, which can also be customized, as well as spatial audio. With spatial audio, dynamic head tracking can be activated and you can choose between two modes. In addition, the high-resolution audio codec LDAC can be selected in the other settings.

Practical test and sound quality of the soundcore AeroFit Pro

  • Simple operation with two haptic buttons
  • secure hold at all times, but slight wobbling during fast movements …
  • … which is significantly reduced by the neckband

The operation of the soundcore AeroFit Pro was found to be good in the test. Connecting and disconnecting with our devices works quickly and reliably at all times, and the open-ear headphones are charged reliably thanks to the magnets in the charging case. The two buttons can be used to perform the most important actions, with sufficient options available by pressing them once or three times. The haptic buttons are easy to operate even when moving or doing sports.

The wearing comfort of the soundcore AeroFit Pro was also found to be good in the test. At 12.2 g per earbud, the open-ear headphones are significantly heavier than in-ear headphones and can therefore always be felt when worn, but are still comfortable to wear. When moving, the AeroFit Pro sit securely at all times, but due to their design and weight, they wobble slightly back and forth, especially when moving quickly. The adjustable neckband significantly reduces wobbling. We can therefore recommend the neckband for sports in particular. The wearing comfort is also high over longer periods of time, and the open ear canals mean that no pressure is felt on the ears.

The battery life was found to be very good in the test. The open-ear headphones achieve a battery life of 14 hours, and 46 hours when recharged via the charging case. We can confirm these values at a volume of ~50%.

Recording and playback quality

  • Balanced sound with powerful bass

The playback quality of the soundcore AeroFit Pro is good, but cannot be compared with in-ear headphones due to the open design and the ambient noise that is always audible. The sound is balanced and, compared to in-ear headphones, less detailed and also somewhat muffled. The bass is good and more powerful than we would have expected from open-ear headphones. Spatial audio worked well in the test. The feature achieves a very spatial sound, but the sound quality decreases slightly. The sound can also be adjusted to your own preferences using the various EQ modes.

The recording quality of the soundcore AeroFit Pro is also good; in a quiet environment, voices in conversations are easy to understand. In louder environments, the background noise is also filtered out somewhat by the additional microphones and AI.

soundcore AeroFit Pro test: Conclusion

The soundcore AeroFit Pro proved to be good open-ear headphones in the test, which are also well suited for sports. The open-ear headphones offer a balanced and good sound, which is not comparable to in-ear headphones due to the open design.

Even without the neckband, the open-ear headphones fit well and securely at all times, but wobble slightly when moving quickly. With the neckband, wearing comfort is once again significantly increased. Only the weight could be a little less. The AeroFit Pro also offer extensive features such as IPX5 protection, support for LDAC and spatial audio as well as a long battery life.

The soundcore AeroFit Pro are currently available with coupons for ~120 € (as of 10.08.2024) directly from the manufacturer.
