Honor Magic6 Pro: Elegant flagship smartphone with powerful cameras

The former Huawei subsidiary Honor has been back on the German smartphone market for a few years now and has been going full throttle ever since. Last year, the Magic5 Pro was already an outstanding device, which even won the coveted Platinum Award in our test. The new Honor Magic6 Pro has now been launched and has even gone one better. Honor Magic6 Pro in detail: the elegant flagship

The Honor Magic6 Pro was launched in Europe just in time for the Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona. And with features that leave nothing to be desired, and not just at first glance.

The 6.80-inch OLED display, for example, which dynamically adjusts the refresh rate between 1 Hz and 120 Hz and is incredibly bright at 5,000 nits for HDR content, is impressive. The Magic6 Pro’s display therefore clearly outshines all its competitors. Thanks to Dolby Vision and HDR Vivid, content on the smartphone looks even more vivid and detailed.

Under the hood is the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC from Qualcomm, which clocks at up to 3.3 GHz and has 12 GB of RAM at its side. This combination ensures impressive performance and gaming power that can handle even the most demanding mobile games.

The whole thing is combined with a whopping 512 GB of RAM, 5G, modern Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3. The Honor Magic6 Pro also scores with a high-quality and pleasantly grippy design and is available in the two colors Epi Green and Black.

The flagship smartphone is also at the forefront in terms of build quality, while IP68 certification guarantees protection against dust and water.

Impressive battery life, unique functions

The manufacturer has equipped the Honor Magic6 Pro with a huge battery so that you don’t run out of juice even on longer days. It has a capacity of 5,600 mAh, which sounds impressive – but in practice enables even more impressive runtimes, not least thanks to the economical chip and a new type of silicon-carbon battery.

And if you do manage to drain the battery, charging is extremely fast thanks to the 80 watt SuperCharge charging speed via cable and up to 66 watts for wireless charging.

There are also unique features such as gesture control, which you can use to operate the entire system, 3D face recognition and an AI-supported call function.

Outstanding cameras

No question: the Honor Magic6 Pro is at the forefront when it comes to cameras and has its sights firmly set on the camera smartphone throne. On the back, the smartphone has a 50 MP Super Dynamic Falcon camera with a variable aperture that can be set between f/1.4 and f/2.0.

There is also a 50 MP ultra wide-angle camera with a macro function that enables incredibly detailed shots from just 2.5 cm away and a 180 megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 2.5x optical and 100x digital zoom including optical image stabilization.

All three cameras deliver excellent results, with which the Honor Magic6 Pro does not have to hide even from the best camera smartphones. Videos can be recorded in 4K at 60 fps with an equally excellent level of detail and the front camera with a resolution of 50 megapixels also takes impressive selfies.

The Honor Magic6 Pro has now arrived in stores, with a recommended retail price of €1,299.90.
