Adata HD770G: Rugged Hard Drive with RGB Lighting Introduced

The Taiwanese company Adata has announced that it has introduced the first rugged hard disk with RGB lighting. The Adata HD770G offers a stable IP68 certified case that protects the hard drive from water and dust thanks to its construction. In addition, the hard drive complies with the MIL-STD-810G 516.6 standard, which certifies that it can withstand falls from 1.22 meters without damage. Compared to conventional hard disks, the Adata HD770G is much heavier and larger with a weight of 270 grams and dimensions of 13.9 x 9.8 x 2.6 centimeters.

The hard disk is connected via USB 3.2 Gen 1, but thanks to USB 2.0 downward compatibility, older devices can also be connected. When connecting via USB 2.0, a USB Y cable not included in the scope of delivery is required for the power supply. The Adata HD770G also features AES 256-bit encryption so that data is not only safe from water and falls, but also from curious persons.

The hard disk comes on the market in two versions with one or two terabytes of storage capacity in red and black. The RGB lighting consists of two light strips on the top of the hard disk. Adata has not yet published the publication date and prices of the hard disk.
