Aerocool Gladiator Duo in double chamber design

Aerocool has introduced the new Gladiator Duo, a compact midi tower. With three pre-installed fans, interior lighting is provided at the same time.

Ventilation concept

The Aerocool Gladiator Duo relies on a passive airflow system. In order to dissipate heat away in the main chamber, Aerocool has gone with a dual-chamber design here, aiming to provide all-around cooling for the components. Three fans are already pre-installed at the factory, with one 120mm fan in the rear and two more fans under the lid. Two more 140 mm fans or three 120 mm fans can also be mounted behind the front or two 120 mm fans on the power supply tunnel. The fans provided not only serve to ventilate the interior in the Aerocool Gladiator Duo, but also function as lighting. So that the fans do not stand alone with their RGB LEDs, an LED strip was attached to the front of the case. Here, the control is done via a hub, which has six connectors for 6-pin fans.

Shorter case quite the trend

The amount of space in the case forces the user to make a choice, either compromise on the size of the GPU or the number of fans. Radiators up to a size of 240 mm can be mounted under the lid of the Gladiator Duo and up to a size of 360 mm behind the front. Especially at the front, however, you then have to make a decision. If there are no fans and radiators at the front, the GPU has room for up to a length of 326 mm. However, if you don’t want to do without the fresh air supply here, the space for the graphics card is reduced to 301 mm. With an additional radiator, the space is then reduced once again to 278 mm. The concept of the case follows the new trend of shorter cases in the budget sector.

Due to the height restriction of 161 mm, coolers of common sizes can be installed in the midi tower. However, there are further restrictions for the hard drives. Here, up to two 2.5-inch HDDs can be installed behind the motherboard tray and a bracket on the bottom of the Aerocool Gladiator Duo still has room for a 3.5-inch drive. Additionally, another data carrier can be integrated here on the top of the bracket. However, both the bracket and the drive have to be removed for this.

The case has removable dust filters on the front, top and bottom for quick and easy maintenance and cleaning. On the top or the lid of the Gladiator Duo are also the ports. There are two USB 3.0 (USB 3.2 Gen 1) ports as well as one port each for the microphone and headset. There is also a power button and a reset button. Overall, the new case from Aerocool comes to a dimension of 404 × 210 × 519 mm (L × W × H) and thus has a volume of 44.03 liters, with a still unknown weight.

Availability and price

When and at what price the new Aerocool Gladiator Duo will hit the market is not yet known. However, it will be priced somewhere around 50 euros.
