AlgoLaser Delta 22W: The first smart laser engraving machine

Your creative streak is simply not enough in your hobbies? Then you should look around for a new pastime. If painting, knitting and carving are not for you, you might be interested in working with a laser engraving machine. The AlgoLaser Delta 22W promises a very easy start into this profession even for laymen. This is probably due to the fact that, according to the manufacturer, it is the world’s first smart laser engraving machine. Sounds like a lot of user and operating convenience, doesn’t it?

AlgoLaser Delta 22W: Always everything in view thanks to smart screen

The Delta 22W is not advertised as a smart laser without reason. In particular, operation is supposed to be easy and intuitive. Engraving is supposed to be possible at lightning speed, even without a connection to devices and apps. Of course, the same applies to cutting materials or controlling the air pump. An interactive LCD screen makes this possible. Not only can you control the machine via this screen. You can also access the most important status information. Warnings and other important information are also displayed here.

AlgoLaser Delta 22W: A lot of power

According to the manufacturer, however, that’s not all the benefits you should be able to enjoy when buying the Delta 22W. The use of COS technology is supposed to be particularly smart. This increases the power of the laser by a remarkable 40%. The whole thing is made possible by a certain beam combination. The spot size of the laser is reduced by 40% compared to conventional machines. The 22W strong laser module can also conjure up colorful works of art. At least if you choose stainless steel. Here, oxidation causes the metal to change color.

After successful engraving, you can then cut out your work of art for a precise fit. This is where the power of the laser comes into play once again. It is said to be able to cut 45mm thick black acrylic, 20mm thick lime wood, 12mm thick MDF boards and 20mm thick oak. Of course, with so much power, safety must not be neglected. That is why the AlgoLaser Delta 22W fulfills many safety functions.

So you won’t just remember lens cleaning. On top of that, the machine features a flame detector as well as air pressure monitoring. Of course, the performance is also reflected in a high working speed. According to the manufacturer, the engraving machine should be able to create up to 500mm/s. This makes it 12x faster than comparable competitors. With an image size of 350x350mm, the Delta is said to need just 39 minutes for a complete engraving. According to the manufacturer, the competition needs a whopping 468 minutes here.

AlgoLaser Delta 22W: Motherboard with performance update

In terms of performance, the Delta should also be able to score with its motherboard. At the heart of this is a quad-core processor. This is supposed to increase the upload speed of jobs by 200% compared to the competition. According to the manufacturer, the Delta only needs 10 seconds, while the competition needs 180 seconds. Furthermore, the modern hardware ensures that the laser engraving machine also supports over-the-air updates (OTA). This means that it remains up to date even if you forget to install the update manually.

It’s not just the automatic updates that provide user convenience. The Delta also appears to be very user-friendly when it comes to set-up and setup. For example, the machine is already completely assembled at the factory.  During use, the strength of the airflow is regulated fully automatically. For example, 30% of the airflow is used for engraving. When cutting, it is used at 100%. If you still want to make adjustments, you can do so immediately via the AlgoLaser app or the LightBurn or LaserGRBL software.

AlgoLaser Delta 22W: Safety first

As mentioned earlier, the machine comes with smart safety features. These include not only lens cleaning reminders, flame detectors and air pressure monitoring. On top of that, the Delta offers detection as well as protection of machine misalignment. The unit also immediately detects tilt. Then it switches off automatically. Furthermore, beams and USB connections are effectively detected and protected. With the help of a key lock, you can prevent unauthorized persons from using the machine. An emergency switch, on the other hand, lets you turn off the laser in a flash.

It’s not just the safety features that make it clear that the Delta is ideally suited for newcomers to the field. In addition, the machine offers uncomplicated maintenance. Thanks to the removable laser metal cover, you can easily clean the laser unit, for example. The service life of the laser has also been maximized thanks to the Air Assist nozzle. The new nylon rollers should also ensure long durability. The closed frame design, on the other hand, not only looks good. On top of that, it protects the cables inside the device.

Price and Availability

With a price of 956.95 euros on Gearberry, the Delta 22W may not be a bargain. However, considering the modern features, the price-performance ratio seems quite fair.
