Amazon Fire Max 11: Online shipping giant presents new tablet

Amazon has presented its latest technology gadget. With the Amazon Fire Max 11, the online retail giant wants to launch an 11-inch tablet that is primarily suitable for entertainment. A fairly fair price starting at under 300 euros should appeal to the broad masses.

Amazon Fire Max 11 breaks own records

With the Fire Max 11, Amazon is not launching its first tablet. In the past, the tech company has already presented other models. However, these scored neither with a large screen diagonal nor with hardware power. The focus for the online retail giant was rather on launching devices that would enable the use of in-house services like Prime Video or Amazon Music. The latest addition to the product family, on the other hand, wants to demonstrate new virtues. For one thing, there is the screen diagonal. With 11 inches, the upcoming device is the manufacturer’s biggest so far. Furthermore, the company wants to have improved the performance. An 8-core processor is supposed to provide enough power to play games. The processor is supposed to be a MediaTek MT8188J. The fact that Amazon is now also interested in gaming was not least made clear by the release of Luna in March of this year.

The pleasingly powerful CPU gets support from 4 GB of RAM. Either 64 GB or 128 GB of flash memory offer enough space for documents and media. If that is not enough, you can expand it via microSD. In direct comparison to the last tablet from Amazon, a lot has changed. The Fire HD 10, which went on sale almost two years ago, is considered the top of the line so far. However, you only get a 10-inch display, 3 GB of RAM and a maximum of 64 GB of flash storage. In terms of processor technology, however, there was an 8-core CPU here as well. With 490 g, the 11 inch tablet comes with an average weight. In comparison, the 10.2 inch iPad weighs 498 g in its standard version. A real innovation is the fingerprint sensor. Thus, the Amazon Fire Max 11 is the first device from the online shipping giant that has a fingerprint sensor.

Many question marks about the display

While Amazon is quite open about the technology under the hood of the tablet, there are some uncertainties about the display. This could be due to the fact that the display technology has probably not changed much compared to the Fire HD 10. At least a look at the resolution allows this conclusion. At 2,000 x 1,200 pixels, it is only slightly higher than the predecessor’s 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. The battery, on the other hand, is said to have changed quite a bit. The Amazon Fire Max 11 is supposed to have a much longer battery life of up to 14 hours. In comparison, the Fire HD 10 only lasted for a maximum of 12 hours. However, Amazon’s latest locking device seems to lag behind the competition in terms of charging power. Only a maximum charging power of 9 watts is possible. The tablet can be charged via USB-C port within four and a half hours. Amazon includes a suitable power adapter. That is anything but a matter of course nowadays in view of the sustainability and savings policies of many other manufacturers.

Four-year update warranty

Meanwhile, the USB-C port is not only supposed to be suitable for charging the battery. On top of that, you will have to connect your headphones here if you still own a wired pair. Finally, Amazon does not include a 3.5 mm jack. This decision is a bit questionable since the competition’s tablets still rely on the jack. Bluetooth 5.3 is again on board for wireless headphones and speakers.

Amazon wants to make sure that you have a high sound enjoyment even without external devices. Thus, the two integrated speakers have Dolby Atmos certification. The integrated microphones also enable video telephony in combination with the cameras on the back and front with a resolution of 8 MP each. According to Amazon, the 11-inch tablet will be supported for a long time so that the user can enjoy it. The online shipping giant promises four years of security updates.

Price and availability

Those interested in Amazon’s latest tablet can pre-order it now. Prices start at 269.99 euros. For this, you get the Amazon Fire Max 11 with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB flash storage. However, you have to accept the usual Amazon advertising. If you do without it, you can get the tablet for 284.99 Euros. The online retail giant also charges a higher price for more memory. At a price of 299.99 euros, you can use 128 GB of flash storage here – with advertising. The “big” version without ads, on the other hand, costs 314.99 euros. In addition to the tablet, Amazon also offers practical accessories. Besides a case that comes with an integrated keyboard, there is also an input pen. If you buy the new Amazon Fire Max 11 as a complete package with 128 GB, case, pen, and without ads, you will end up with a price of 439.97 Euros.
