To avoid a rude awakening, well-known tech companies have now joined forces and founded a consortium called the “AI-Enabled Information and Communication Technology Workforce Consortium”. The focus of industry giants such as Cisco, Microsoft, IBM, Intel and Google is not on the professional world in general. Rather, the study is to be conducted specifically for the IT sector. While the tech companies will be contributing their industry expertise, the committee will also include management consultants Accenture, labour market experts Indeed, the Communications Workers of America and the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations.
