Asus ROG Cetra True Wireless: Gaming in-ears with hybrid ANC unveiled

Asus Republic of Gamers (ROG) follows in Razer’s footsteps and also launches gaming in-ear headphones with active noise cancellation. With the Asus ROG Cetra True Wireless, we can expect fancy earbuds that want to convince with low latency, hybrid ANC function and a battery life of up to 27 hours.

Features of the Asus ROG Cetra True Wireless

Asus positions the ROG Cetra True Wireless as in-ear gaming headphones on the market, putting low-latency performance in the foreground, which should appeal to mobile gamers in particular. In doing so, the manufacturer promises “low to no latency” for perfect synchronicity in competitive gaming.

Wirelessly, the Earbuds transmit via Bluetooth 5.0. Visually, the Cetra present themselves as classic Earbuds with a rather long, flat stylus that protrudes from the ear. The manufacturer uses a black color scheme with silver details in the form of the manufacturer’s logo and lettering. There are also blue elements on the outer sides, which are apparently LED indicators. However, details about their use are not mentioned.

10mm drivers with hybrid ANC

Sound-wise, the new Asus ROG Cetra True Wireless rely on 10 mm neodymium magnet drivers that feature the usual specifications. The frequency response is 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, and the impedance is 32 ohms. The omni-directional microphone offers a frequency response of 100 Hz – 10,000 Hz and a sensitivity of -38 dB.

The specially tuned 10-mm ASUS Essence drivers are said to provide its rich sound in the mid and high frequencies, as well as a powerful bass, according to the manufacturer.

The announcement does not go into detail about the hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC). However, this suggests that the strength of the Active Noise Cancellation adapts to the ambient volume.

Thanks to the fast-charging technology, the Earbuds are ready for 1.5 hours of music playback or gaming in 10 minutes. The charging case can not only be charged via USB-C, but also wirelessly with compatible devices in the Qi standard.

The Asus ROG Cetra True Wireless are IPX4 splash-proof and can be adjusted using the Armoury Crate Mobile software. The charging case measures 434 x 284 x 260 mm (length x depth x height) and weighs 66 grams. Asus does not reveal how heavy the actual Earbuds are.

Price and availability

The Asus ROG Cetra True Wireless in-ear gaming headphones are available in stores now for an MSRP of 130.90 euros. Amazon is currently already listing the Earbuds with a six percent discount for around 122 euros.
