Baseus H1 Hybrid: Over-ear headphones promise 1 hour of battery life per euro

Okay, the manufacturer Baseus does not officially advertise its new Baseus H1 Hybrid Bluetooth over-ear headphones in this way. But the claim is still not wrong: For around 70 Euros, the new model is supposed to realize a battery life of up to 70 hours. In addition, there is an active noise cancellation, a chic design and modern Bluetooth 5.2.

Baseus H1 Hybrid goes on sale

After manufacturer Baseus launched its affordable in-ear headphones S1 Pro including ANC (59.99 euros on Amazon) in this country as well, they are now following up with the over-ear model Baseus H1 Hybrid.

The elegant design is obviously inspired by Apple’s AirPods Max and marks the first over-ear headphone from the Chinese manufacturer. The flat ear cups and the comparatively wide foam ear pads, which promise an extremely high wearing comfort, are striking. The model is optionally available in a black or white color scheme.

The H1 Hybrid have a lot to offer for the extremely low price. For the acoustics, 40 mm PET diaphragm drivers are used, which are supposed to produce a hip “lit” stereo sound. So, it can be assumed that the focus here is on listening pleasure (read: rich bass). Nevertheless, the manufacturer speaks of an “expertly tuned balancing for high and low frequencies” along with 360-degree stereo sound in the item description.

In addition, as the name suggests, there is hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC), which also comes with three operating modes and is supposed to attenuate ambient noise by up to 40 dB. The four built-in microphones also offer ENC noise cancellation and are supposed to ensure clear intelligibility during phone calls. Wind noise in particular is supposed to be effectively suppressed.

Bluetooth 5.2 and 70 hours runtime

Wirelessly, the Baseus H1 Hybrid transmits in the modern Bluetooth 5.2 standard with correspondingly low latency. According to the manufacturer, this should be under 0.038 seconds. The sound can also be customized via the companion app using adaptive equalizer settings.

What is also really impressive is the promised battery life. The H1 Hybrid are supposed to last up to 70 hours when you turn off the ANC function. With active noise cancellation, a very good 40 hours are still possible.

That’s once again significantly more than the current Sony top-of-the-line WH-1000XM5 is capable of. The Bose QuietComfort 45 (our review) can also last a maximum of 24 hours.

The Baseus H1 Hybrid are charged via USB Type-C, whereby a complete charging process of only one hour is very fast. Thanks to Quick Charge, 10 minutes on the mains is enough for one hour of music playback.

The controls in the form of various buttons on the left and right ear cups look strikingly similar to those on the Bose QuietComfort and should, presumably, work with similar precision.

However, you can’t expect high-resolution audio codecs at such a low price. Only AAC and SBC are offered. In return, however, at least a transparency mode joins the ANC, thanks to which conversations should be possible with headphones on.

Price and availability

The Baseus H1 Hybrid over-ear headphones are now available for direct import via AliExpress. Price-wise, the headphones are priced there at 66.98 euros plus shipping and import costs. With a standard delivery, the package should probably be waiting for you on July 28.

However, it can be assumed that the model will also be distributed in this country shortly. However, there is no information about this at the moment.
