Since the hi-fi company Beats was taken over by Apple, things have not only gone uphill in terms of sound. Its success has also left nothing to be desired. This is especially true for the on-ear model “Solo”. Now the latest version, the Beats Solo 4, is coming onto the market. It is set to surprise with a number of new features. These include the switch to USB-C.
Beats Solo 4 with some new features
There was a big stir in the technology world when Apple acquired the headphone brand Beats in 2014 for a horrendous purchase price of 3 billion US dollars. There were beaming faces on both the buyer’s and the seller’s side. While rapper and entrepreneur Dr. Dre was delighted with the cash injection, Apple managed to increase its footprint in the headphone market.
The success story continues for the tech company despite the success of the AirPods. With the Beats Solo 4, Apple will probably soon be offering the latest version of the headphone brand’s popular on-ear model. At least this is the conclusion drawn by a report from the experts at 9to5Mac. They in turn refer to reliable sources.
There are also said to be references in the database of the US Communications Commission (FCC). Apparently, model details for the upcoming headphones have already been listed here. From the point of view of Beats fans, the update is more than overdue. After all, the third generation of the powerful-sounding on-ears went on sale back in 2017.
May makes everything new?
On the one hand, the innovations should be of a sonic nature. At the heart of the sound are 40 mm drivers. The Beats Solo 4 could also come with Spatial Audio. Dynamic head movement tracking should also be on board. Furthermore, the battery life is said to have improved compared to its seven-year-old predecessor.
The charging port has also been redesigned. Instead of micro-USB, the fourth generation will use USB-C. Furthermore, operation will probably not only be possible wirelessly via Bluetooth. A 3.5 mm jack connection should also be on board. So you should be able to enjoy music even when the battery is empty.
The Beats Solo 4 should also offer Bluetooth 5.3 and softer ear pads. While a lot is said to have changed technically compared to its predecessor, the price of the on-ear headphones is still at the level of the third generation. We can therefore expect a price of between 200 and 250 euros. If the rumors turn out to be true, the Beats Solo 4 could go on sale as early as May.
