Corsair releases padded double layer palm rest in 3 sizes

In order to improve the ergonomics of a keyboard and to relieve the wrists, a palm rest is indispensable. Corsair offers a corresponding solution directly in the scope of delivery for most keyboards, but with the padded double-layer palm rest there is now an independent, particularly high-quality model that is also compatible with keyboards from other manufacturers.

Especially the large keyboards from Corsair, such as the K70 RGB Pro (our review) come with a palm rest that provides additional ergonomics. This is then also mostly magnetically held on the keyboard.

They are mostly made of plastic and undoubtedly fulfill their purpose. But if you really want to do something good for your wrists, a padded, soft palm rest is the better choice.

Fortunately, the manufacturer has thought of that as well and is now launching the Corsair Padded Double Layer Palm Rest, which comes in three sizes. The compact mini model is aimed at keyboards in the 60-percent layout and is accompanied by a TenKeyless (TKL) and a full-size variant.

The models differ solely in size and all three come in a black color scheme. However, we would just assume that a white model – to match the manufacturer’s bright keyboard – is already in the works.

Padded palm rest with cooling gel and memory foam

The Corsair padded double-layer palm rest comes up with a cooling gel inside, which is not really exciting in the currently prevailing temperatures, but should provide cooling for the wrists in the warmer summer months.

The soft memory foam of the wrist rest provides additional comfort. The surface is also covered with a Polygiene ViralOff coating, which is supposed to be hygienic and antimicrobial to protect the accessory from bacteria and odors.

Corsair also promises an extra-wide resting surface, which is mainly to be achieved by the unusual shape of the palm rest. In contrast to the usual models, the manufacturer relies on a trapezoidal shape here, where the support surface is wider at the bottom than at the top.

“Compared to traditional rectangular palm rests, the ergonomic design provides a larger support surface, better grip on the edge and additional comfort through a natural posture,” says the manufacturer.

The high-quality finish is complemented by a sturdy apparently white or gray stitching that should not fray. Thereby, the padded double-layer palm rest comes to a height of 25 millimeters and a depth of 95 millimeters. There are of course differences in width:

The mini variant for 60 percent keyboard is 347 mm wide, the TKL variant measures 412 mm and the full-size model brings it to 492 millimeters.

Prices and Availability

The Corsair padded dual-layer palm rest in the three variants is available now from the manufacturer’s webshop. It starts off priced at an MSRP of 34.99 euros for the mini model. The TenKeyless version has an RRP of 39.99 Euros, while the manufacturer charges 44.99 Euros for the full size.
