With the EcoFlow Powerstream, the company has now presented a smart combination solution consisting of a balcony power plant and battery. This should solve the storage problem that many owners of solar systems for the home balcony complain about.
EcoFlow Powerstream as a problem solver of balcony power plants
The energy transition is in full swing and companies are responding. So that not only home builders, but also residents of an apartment building may be in on the action, the idea of so-called balcony power plants is booming. These are small-scale photovoltaic systems that fit on balconies. To promote the whole thing, the traffic light government has already agreed on comprehensive support measures. But balcony power plants have one problem so far. Thus it lacks still at suitable storage possibilities. For example, if you spend the whole day at work, you usually can’t benefit from the solar energy generated during the day in the evening. EcoFlow is now going one step further. The expert in smart energy storage has unveiled what it calls its Powerstream. The EcoFlow Powerstream is a 2-in-1 solution that combines balcony power plant with energy storage without further ado. Energy generated during the day is thus stored without further ado to be consumed in the evening and night hours. EcoFlow’s premiere in the field of balcony power plants is thus likely to strike like a bomb directly as a revolution in this segment. Given the company’s experience with mobile energy storage units such as the EcoFlow River 2 Max (test) or the EcoFlow Delta 2 (test), we can probably expect great things here. After all, these not only score with strong performance, but can also be conveniently monitored via app.
EcoFlow Powerstream is energy storage for home and on the go
The EcoFlow Powerstream is said to be a 2-in-1 solution in other respects as well. Namely, thanks to its mobile concept, the combination of solar cells and power station can be used for more than just domestic power supply. Those who spontaneously set off on a weekend camping trip should also be able to conveniently take the storage unit with them as a portable power supply.
Once back at home, you then unceremoniously plug the Powerstation back into the appropriate outlet and let it feed the generated power into your home’s grid. Of course, the popular feature of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is also used here. Should a power failure occur, the power station then steps in unceremoniously as an energy provider.
Price and Availability
With the EcoFlow Powerstream, the manufacturer seems to want to transfer its experience from the design and construction of mobile energy storage units to the popular balcony power station. In theory, the whole thing already seems to succeed. From the end of May, the company wants to launch its combination of balcony power plant and power station. Unfortunately, EcoFlow is still keeping a low profile with exact technical data.
