Electric car: Tesla presents Model 3 Performance

Tesla also had positive things to report at the presentation of its not necessarily pleasing quarterly figures. The electric car manufacturer presented the Tesla Model 3 Performance, a sports version of its entry-level electric car. Among other things, it offers a remarkable top speed of 262 km/h.

A look at the technical data of the new top-of-the-range version of the Model 3 naturally reveals its powerful performance. Equipped with all-wheel drive, the electric car has a system output of 340 kW. In turn, it should be able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds. The top speed is also anything but normal.

With a maximum speed of 262 km/h, the Bolide is well ahead of most of the competition in the field of electromobility. But it’s not just in terms of performance that things have changed. The performance model also has a sportier look. The Tesla Model 3 Performance comes with 20-inch aluminum wheels and a slightly modified body. This applies to both the rear and the front.

At the rear, for example, a rear spoiler is now used, which Tesla manufactures from carbon fiber. This should not only look better, but also ensure better aerodynamics. The US manufacturer has also adapted the rest of the technical equipment to the increased performance. For example, the vehicle not only has special adaptive damping that can be controlled via the software.

The suspension, stabilizers and braking system have also been adapted. The latter now uses brakes which, according to Tesla, would also be suitable for the racetrack. These come with brake pads that can withstand even high loads and are designed to produce the fastest possible braking response.

Slight changes to the interior

Tesla has also given the interior a makeover. Here, too, the focus is naturally on a sporty look and feel. There are, of course, tailor-made sports seats which, thanks to the robust side bolsters, should ensure a stable seat even in tight bends. Furthermore, details in carbon underline the fact that this is a classy sports car.

Price and availability

Deliveries of the Tesla Model 3 Performance are scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2024. Tesla is already accepting orders for its latest sports car in Germany. Prices start at 56,990 euros. If you don’t want to spend that much money and can do without the rapid acceleration and speed, you should take a look at the entry-level model of the Tesla Model 3. The US car manufacturer reduced the price of this model a few days ago.
