HTC U23 Pro: New smartphone with strong features and quad camera

HTC is back and has unveiled a new smartphone with strong features in the form of the HTC U23 Pro. The device relies on 5G, a quad camera and a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display.

The HTC U23 Pro in detail

The new HTC U23 Pro positions itself in the flagship class of modern smartphones. Weighing 205 grams and measuring 166.6 x 77.1 x 8.9 mm, the device comes with a 6.7-inch OLED display that resolves in Full HD+ with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels and offers a variable refresh rate of 120 Hz.

It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, which is supported by 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of system storage. The system storage can also be expanded via microSD card.

The smartphone offers IP67 water and dust protection and has a 3.5 mm jack for using headphones. NFC and Bluetooth 5.2 are also on board, as is fast Wi-Fi 6E.

The battery has a capacity of 4,600 mAh and is charged via USB-C with up to 30 watts. Wirelessly, up to 15 watts are possible, and the U23 Pro can reverse wireless charging with a maximum of 5 watts.

Strong quad camera

The HTC U23 Pro relies on a quad camera, whose showpiece is the 108 megapixel main camera. It offers an optical image stabilizer and an aperture of f/1.7. In addition, videos can be recorded in 1080p HDR with image stabilization. A Super Night Mode is supposed to offer even better photos in low-light conditions.

The 32-megapixel front-facing camera (f/2.45) is also supposed to enable particularly sharp and high-resolution selfies. The 8-megapixel ultrawide camera (f/2.4), 5-megapixel macro camera (f/2.2) and 2-megapixel depth detection camera (f/2.4) round out the camera setup.

Price and Availability

The HTC U23 Pro is now available for pre-order directly from the manufacturer at a suggested retail price of €549 and will be available from 04 June 2023. Anyone who pre-orders the HTC U23 pro on HTC.com between May 18, 2023 and June 4, 2023 will receive a pair of HTC True Wireless Earbuds Plus worth EUR 79 in black or white for free.
