Now that’s a special edition. Huawei now launches its popular True Wireless In Ears called FreeBuds in a Lipstick Edition. According to the Chinese, they want to combine elegance with a high wearing comfort and high-resolution sound.
“Glamorous fashion statement with the best sound”
…That’s how HUAWEI itself describes the Lipstick Edition of its FreeBuds. The Chinese rely on a charging or transport case that comes in classic black for the Special Edition. They want to stand out from the competition with a certain touch of extravagance via golden accents. However, the FreeBuds themselves are probably the real eye-catcher. Their bright red color is supposed to represent the lipstick itself. The company, still reeling from its place on the U.S. embargo list, claims to have gone through a total of “30 complex design processes” to plan its special lipstick case.
The result is a compact stainless steel-based case that comes with high-gloss finish surfaces. As with many other True Wireless In Ears, Huawei also relies on a practical magnetic closure for its FreeBuds in the Lipstick Edition. This makes the headphones easily accessible. A small thumb movement is enough to open or close the case. Thus, the intended target group is probably quickly identified.
The perfect gift for wife or girlfriend?
Still haven’t found a suitable Christmas gift for your better half? Well, HUAWEI is obviously hoping that you will call the Lipstick Edition just that. Accordingly, the Chinese also create the best conditions for a perfect gift. This starts with the obviously feminine design and extends to the gift box, which is supposed to be scented itself. HUAWEI says it wants to “turn unwrapping into an experience”.
But the FreeBuds in the Lipstick Edition are also supposed to be convincing in terms of sound. Here we can probably expect a similar sound performance as with the classic FreeBuds. HUAWEI talks about a balanced sound that is supposed to reproduce bass, mids and trebles in a multi-faceted way. Active noise cancellation (ANC) is also part of the package. This should especially please public transport commuters. In its Special Edition, the FreeBuds again offer automatic adjustment to the ear’s individual hearing channel. In the end, you can expect the best sound results.
High wearing comfort
So that the FreeBuds in the Lipstick Edition can be worn even times a whole working day, HUAWEI promises high wearing comfort. This already starts with the low weight of the in-ears. With just 4.1 grams per earpiece, you should quickly forget that you are wearing them at all. This positive impression is likely to be further reinforced by the ergonomic design – the AirPods send their regards. Of course, the standard features of True Wireless In Ears should not be missing. Besides an automatic wear detection that pauses when you take a plug out of your ear, a touch-sensitive surface is also used.
The latter is likely to be a matter of taste, as is often the case. After all, incorrect inputs are almost always pre-programmed here. In terms of battery life, the sonorous lipstick can also be seen or heard. A full battery charge of the earphones is supposed to provide a total of four hours of music enjoyment. The battery in the case has room for another 22 hours, which means you get a total of over 24 hours of battery life. Once the charging case is empty, it can be recharged quickly thanks to Fast Charging. HUAWEI promises that just 15 minutes of charging is enough for two and a half hours of use.
