Huawei launches its first over-ear headphones, the FreeBuds Studio

From now on there is not only something from Huawei in the ears, but now on the ears. The hardware manufacturer has released its first over-ear headphones with the FreeBuds Studio.

Not only a noble design

The FreeBuds deliver a top-notch sound with intelligent Dynamic Noise Cancellation. The Headphones
not only stand out due to their elegant design, but also have crystal clear voice quality and useful attention mode. The two powerful-sounding 40-millimeter drivers ensure high-quality music enjoyment. Thanks to the intelligent Dynamic Active Noise Cancellation, intelligent sensors and four microphones specially responsible for noise suppression, the user can listen to music or make phone calls without being disturbed. The intelligent Dynamic Active Noise Cancellation reduces ambient noise by up to 40 decibels. Every second, the headphones analyze the environment and its noise one hundred times, and then independently select and apply the appropriate filter method for the situation. With the different filter settings, the user can also take the noise reduction into his own hands to a certain degree. You can choose between “Comfortable”, “Balanced” and “Ultra”, depending on the current environment.

The Huawei FreeBuds Studio has a total of six microphones, so the user and his counterpart benefit from the extremely good audio quality even during telephone calls. Four microphones are directed outwards and filter out background noise. The two remaining microphones are directed inwards to prevent background noise during telephone calls. With the antennas built into the headphones, 360-degree coverage is guaranteed. This improves the signal strength to such an extent that it is also no problem if the connected smartphone is in your trouser pocket or a full handbag. With FreeBuds Studio’s intelligent attention mode the user is always safe on the road. With a simple push of a button the surrounding noise can be passed. The music or voice transmission is not interrupted. In order to amplify human voices, the user can activate the “Highlight voices” function via the AI Life app. Especially when traveling, this prevents information from being missed by disturbing background noise.

FreeBuds Studio’s battery promises up to 24 hours of music playback time and 20 hours with Dynamic Active Noise Cancellation. Once the battery is empty, just 10 minutes quick charge is enough to listen to 8 hours of music. With hi-fi audio chips and professional acoustic components, Huawei FreeBuds Studio brings studio sound right into the ear. The FreeBuds Studio covers an ultra-wide frequency range from 4 Hz to 48 Hz. They also support the new high-resolution L2HC codec in addition to AAC and SBC. This ensures fast and stable audio transmissions at up to 960 kHz. This also prevents loss of quality in audio files. The headphones thus transmit the music in the highest quality to enjoy the music in all its details. The headphones are also suitable for gamers, as they have a very low latency during audio transmission, thus ensuring a captivating gaming experience.

Availability and price

The FreeBuds Studio can be purchased from mid-November 2020 at a price of 299 euros. The headphones are available in the colors Graphite Black and Blush Gold. Anyone who pre-orders the headphones at Huawei will receive six months of HUAWEI Music, the Huawei Band 4 Pro (79.99 euros) and a 50 euro voucher for the Huawei Online Store as a bonus. Also Amazon will add the Huawei Band 4 Pro for free.
