Kingston XS2000: new portable SSD unveiled

Storage expert Kingston has introduced a new, portable SSD hard drive with the XS2000. It relies on the USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 standard and is thus supposed to achieve transfer speeds of up to 2,000 MB/s.

Small and fast

Measuring 69.54 mm x 32.58 mm x 13.5 mm, the Kingston XS2000 SSD easily fits in any pocket while weighing in at just around 29 grams. It is compatible with Windows 10, Windows 8.1 as well as Linux v. 2.6.x+ and is supported by macOS (from v. 10.14.x).

Thanks to USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 connectivity, it achieves a maximum transfer speed of up to 2,000 MB/s. The connection is made via USB-C port. Conveniently, the Kingston XS2000’s casing is protected against dirt and water according to the IP55 standard. The manufacturer’s warranty is also a full five years. The portable SSD is offered in three different sizes: A 500 GB variant, as well as a 1 TB or 2 TB model are available.

Prices and availability

The Kingston XS2000 can be ordered immediately. Currently, it is only on sale at the online store Alternate as a new addition and should already be shipped shortly. The 500 GB model has an RRP of 100.99 Euros. The 1 TB variant is currently priced at 161.90 euros, while the 2 TB model is priced at 286.00 Euro.
