Microsoft Cortana for Mobile Devices Will Be Discontinued Soon

According to a support article from Microsoft for customers in the UK, the Cortana language assistant will no longer be available as an Android and iOS app from 31 January 2020. The current integration of the digital assistant into the Microsoft Launcher will also be removed on this date. In an interview with the magazine The Verge, Microsoft has now confirmed that Cortana will be removed from mobile devices in Australia, China, Germany, the UK, India, Canada, Mexico and Spain. There is no commentary on the situation in the USA so far.

Lists and reminders already created with Cortana are still available with the app Microsoft To Do for Android, iOS and Windows usable. In addition, Cortana remains available for Windows computers. In the future, the stronger integration of the language assistant in Office 365 will bring additional functions such as the reading of mails in Outlook.
