The popular Parallels Toolbox contains many practical tools and features that make everyday work on the PC much easier. These include, for example, text recognition or an all-in-one archiving function. The brand-new Parallels Toolbox 5.0 for Windows and Mac introduces four and five new tools, respectively, while the user interface has been overhauled.
New Tools for Parallels Toolbox 5.0
New in version 5.0 are mainly tools that understand how to generate and recognize QR codes or convert text from images into (copyable) text. The following tools are added in Parallels Toolbox 5.0:
Barcode Generator (Mac and Windows)
This tool generates not only barcodes, but all kinds of codes, including QR codes, UPC codes and many others.
Barcode Reader (Mac and Windows)
Want to check what a code refers to? Users can either drag an image onto the tool or simply hold the code in front of the camera to instantly identify a barcode.
Focus on Windows (Mac)
Since Mac users have more applications running at the same time and more windows open compared to Windows users, it can sometimes get quite cluttered. One way to solve this problem is to show only the window currently in use and hide all the others. The new Focus on Window tool highlights one window and hides the rest of the open windows.
Convert Text (Mac)
With the “Convert Text” feature, you can easily perform common operations to change case. This makes it possible even with long texts to write everything in capital letters, remove empty columns or simply turn a text around without further ado.
Recognize Text (Mac and Windows)
“Recognize Text” converts an image from text to real text that can be edited. (Similar to the new Live Text feature in iOS/iPadOS 15 or in macOS Monterey on a Mac with M1 chip).
Detect Color (Windows)
The new Windows tool “Detect Color” behaves like a color pipette as it is common on the Mac. It can be used to instantly read the color codes of all images or elements.
Price and Availability
