PIEGA Master Line Source 2 Gen2 launch as high-end transducer

Manufacturer PIEGA from Switzerland launches a new high-end sound transducer that is supposed to provide impressive sound even in difficult rooms. The PIEGA Master Line Source 2 Gen2 is aimed primarily at demanding and audiophile users, because the price has it in itself.

After the wireless hi-fi system PIEGA Premium Wireless Gen2 in March, there is a new audio highlight from the manufacturer from Switzerland and this comes in the form of the PIEGA Master Line Source 2 Gen2. The unique design of the transducers should make it possible to fill even acoustically difficult rooms with the best possible sound without calibration.

Ribbon drivers, coaxial line array and dipole are said to be sophisticated technologies that provide excellent sound. “The advantages of cylindrical radiation unfold especially in less damped rooms, where wide-radiating speakers often have difficulties,” says the manufacturer.

Here, reflections on the floor and ceiling should be able to be avoided as far as possible, which provides a fuller and more voluminous sound image. And all this without the need for room tuning or calibration. This is how PIEGA aims to achieve a balanced sound image with perfect localization.

Unique driver technology

The MLS 2 Gen2 is equipped with the most complex driver, which is handmade in the in-house production: the coaxial line source driver. Multiple voice coils are applied to an aluminum foil diaphragm using a spray etching process with a layer thickness of only 20 microns.

In the process, different areas of the driver operate as midrange and tweeter. Overall, the diaphragm unit is thus just 7 milligrams light and oscillates between ultra-strong neodymium magnets to freely follow the impulses of the music.

Price and availability

However, this high-end technology also has its price: the manufacturer calls up a whole 75,000 euros for the PIEGA Master Line Source 2 Gen2 as a pair, the transducers are offered in the colors silver, black, white and zebrano veneer. They are available immediately from selected retailers.
