PIEGA Premium Wireless Gen2 Series: High-end wireless system introduced

A high-end premium sound in your own four walls and completely without cables? At least that’s what the PIEGA Premium Wireless Gen2 series promises, which the manufacturer has now introduced. In addition, the speakers want to score with a noble design and smart features that are intended to realize the best possible sound even with an unfavorable placement.

The PIEGA Premium Wireless Gen2 series in detail

In total, the new PIEGA Premium Wireless Gen2 series includes three models of active speakers, all of which are versatile and particularly easy to use. If desired, the separately available PIEGA connect plus as a hub provides a wireless connection with various sources and comes up with a built-in network functionality.

The speakers can be played via Apple Airplay, Google Chromecast, Roon Ready, Spotify Connect, DLNA and Bluetooth. The hub can also be connected to virtually any existing TV installation via HDMI-ARC, while classic analog and digital inputs are also available if you don’t mind cables.

The connect plus hub also integrates all the technology, such as preamps, HiRes D/A converters, and the controller. A bidirectional wireless remote control or the smartphone PIEGA Control App for iOS and Android devices allow convenient operation of the compact control center, which has a lot going for it technically.

After all, it serves the PIEGA Premium 301 Wireless Gen2, PIEGA Premium 501 Wireless Gen2 and PIEGA Premium 701 Wireless Gen2 speakers with hi-res sound of up to 96 kHz and 24 bits, and it does so without any cables at all – except for a power cable, of course.

Room-filling, high-resolution sound

The PIEGA Premium Wireless Gen2 Series active speakers promise room-filling sound.“With the introduction of the second generation, PIEGA has dispensed with bass reflex technology, which benefits impulse response and low-frequency precision and allows greater flexibility in placement, such as in the corner of a room,” promises the manufacturer.

Via the iOS app and an iPhone, a calibration can also be made to adjust the sound to the respective room and thus achieve the best possible results. This is mainly about the frequencies below 500 Hz, while mid and high tones are adjusted via the equalizer in the app.

The installed Linear Drive Ribbon tweeters are also handmade by the manufacturer itself and are said to provide an airy, clear and finely resolved sound.

The Premium 501 Wireless Gen2 and 701 Wireless Gen2 are built using fully active 3-way technology, driving woofers, midrange drivers and tweeters each with their own amplifier branches. A total output of 180 or 200 watts for the floorstanding speakers and 100 watts for the 301 Wireless Gen2 compact model are expected to excite music fans.

Visually, all speakers also cut a fine figure thanks to seamless aluminum housing with a brushed finish in anodized black and white lacquer.

According to the manufacturer, the products of the PIEGA Premium Wireless Gen2 series are available immediately from authorized dealers. It starts with the PIEGA Premium 301 Wireless Gen2 from an MSRP of 1,475.00 euros in aluminum or 1,675.00 euros in black / white.

The PIEGA Premium 501 Wireless Gen2 costs at least 2,975.00 Euros, while the PIEGA Premium 701 Wireless Gen2 costs at least 3,750.00 Euros.
