Pioneer VSA-LX805: New AV receiver is supposed to provide rich, audiophile sound

The new Pioneer VSA-LX805 AV receiver aims to offer high-resolution, audiophile sound with studio-level signal processing. It marks the manufacturer’s new top model and comes up with impressive specifications.

The Pioneer VSA-LX805 has it all

The Pioneer VSA-LX805’s assets include technologies from the VSX series, which will be launched as early as 2021, such as integrated Dirac Live room correction, HDMI 2.1 with 8K, 4K gaming, IMAX Enhanced Mode, and much more.

Music and movie sound are reproduced in Dolby Atmos Music, which creates a sense of depth thanks to immersive, object-based surround sound. The revolutionary Auro3D is to be added via firmware update before the end of June 2023 and is said to achieve a spatial sound in music playback that is on par with a real live concert.

With HDMI 2.1, 8K/4K resolution, and speeds of 40 Gbps, it also offers full bandwidth when it comes to image processing, so it also copes excellently with the current consoles around Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

Dirac Live room calibration will adjust the sound to the local conditions thanks to self-learning artificial intelligence. Dirac Live Bass Control is also available as an optional upgrade, with which the AI software also determines the optimal placement of single or multiple subwoofers in the room.

High-Resolution Transducer

The new Pioneer VSA-LX805 is equipped with the highest-quality 32-bit converters from ESS Sabre, which promise virtually distortion-free, high-resolution sound. The 11.4 receiver delivers a whopping 150 watts per channel and features balanced stereo connections in audiophile quality.

It can be operated via Josh, Alexa and Google, for example. Via a Bluetooth transmitter with aptX, the Pioneer AV receiver can also send music to Bluetooth headphones in high quality.

Another software update in September 2023 adds support for Roon: a management software that combines music streaming, digitized music, downloaded as well as physical music purchases.

The Pioneer VSA-LX805 AV receiver will be available in stores from June 2023. The manufacturer’s recommended retail price is 3,499.00 euros including VAT.
