POCO M4 Pro 5G: Xiaomi releases new smartphone at top price in Germany

The subsidiary of Xiaomi wants to stir up the smartphone mid-range with the POCO M4 Pro 5G. Buyers get a lot for under 250 Euros: A 90 Hz display, 33W Pro Fast Charging function and a 50 megapixel strong camera sensor are among the features.

POCO M4 Pro 5G comes to Germany

POCO today announced the launch of its mid-range POCO M4 Pro 5G smartphone. The device relies on a powerful Mediatek Dimensity 810 chipset. The octa-core processor was manufactured in a 6nm process and is inherently low-power. The maximum clock rate is 2.4 GHz for the Cortex A76 cores. Six efficient ARM Cortex A55 cores with 2.0 GHz and a modern ARM Mali-G57 MC2 CPU with 1068MHz complete the overall package.

Depending on the model, the SoC is supported by either 4 or 6 GB of working memory. In addition, there is 64 GB or 128 GB of flash memory that can be expanded via microSD card. 5G support including dual-5G standby as well as UFS 2.2 technology for faster sequential write speeds and multitasking options are also offered.

Long battery life and 90 Hz display

The POCO M4 Pro 5G features a 5,000 mAh battery, which in combination with the power-saving SoC should ensure an especially long battery life. Thanks to the 33W Pro Fast Charging technology, the smartphone is fully charged in just 59 minutes. Ten minutes of charging time is supposed to be enough for two hours of uninterrupted video playback.

With a touch sampling rate of 240Hz and a 90Hz DynamicSwitch Dot Display, this phone not only shines with smooth usability. The large color space, which supports DCI-P3, offers FHD+ resolution.

In addition, the POCO M4 Pro 5G offers a dynamic refresh rate that automatically adjusts to the entertainment mode, thus extending battery life. Videos are played back at 60 frames per second, movies at 25 frames per second, while games run at either 60 frames per second or 90 fps.

Thin lightweight

Combining the display with two speakers, POCO M4 Pro 5G turns into a portable cinema that fits in any pocket. This makes the smartphone perfect for gamers, as the X-axis linear motor provides a haptic, touch-like response that vibrates as feedback to actions in the game.

At the same time, the smartphone weighs only 195 grams and offers an 8.75 mm thin bezel, as well as a newly designed fingerprint sensor on the side. Offered will choose the POCO M4 Pro 5G in three stylish colors: matte POCO Yellow, Power Black or Cool Blue.

50 Megapixel Main Camera

The POCO M4 Pro 5G is the first smartphone in the M series to feature an impressive 50-megapixel camera sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. In addition, it has a number of creative camera features such as night mode, kaleidoscope, slow motion and time-lapse video.

Selfies are taken with the 16-megapixel front-facing camera, which takes up space in a centrally placed punch hole. Among other things, it offers a selfie panorama function for group shots. Various filters can be applied to photos to give the finished clip or photo the final touch.

Prices and Availability

The POCO M4 Pro 5G is available now in Germany. It starts off priced with an MSRP of 229.90 euros for the base model with 4GB of working memory and 64GB of system memory. The 6GB+128GB variant is available in stores at an MSRP of 249.90 Euros.

On the manufacturer’s page, the smartphone is also offered at a discounted price with an early-bird offer. Those who decide to buy between November 11 and November 12 will save 30 Euros on both configuration variants. Thus, we end up with an offer price of 199.90 Euros for the base model.
