Razer Atlas: New glass mouse pad is supposed to offer particularly good gliding properties

With the Razer Atlas, the manufacturer has introduced a new mouse pad that wants to stand out from all the other options on the market. Why? The part is made of glass and is supposed to offer particularly good gliding properties accordingly.

Razer Atlas in detail

Razer has a whole range of mouse pads in its own portfolio. In August 2022, for example, they introduced two new surfaces at once, including the 1,200 mm long Goliathus Chroma 3XL.

Now, the Razer Atlas is a much smaller model that wants to stand out from the competition with a tempered glass surface. The good piece is 450 mm long and 500 mm wide and has a thickness of 5 mm.

There is also no Chroma RGB lighting, and you should also make sure that your gaming mouse also works on glass if you are interested in buying it.

Especially the current Razer mice, but also many models from other manufacturers, manage very well with the smooth surface. If all that is given, then you should be able to benefit from unprecedented gliding properties in terms of speed and precision on the Razer Atlas.

“The mouse pad is optimized for optical sensors and even quieter swipes. Thanks to the ultra-smooth surface and virtually no friction, you can always react with your mouse at lightning speed,” promises the manufacturer.

Thanks to rounded edges, there are also no noticeable barriers for the rodent, while the Razer Atlas’ non-slip surface keeps the mouse pad in place on the desk. In addition, the mouse pad is said to be easy to wipe clean to remove dust, grease, and dirt, for example.

Exposure to sunlight or hitting fellow users with it should, according to Razer’s safety instructions, but better not.

Price and Availability

The high-quality choice of materials and workmanship cost the manufacturer but also quite a bit. The Razer Atlas mouse pad will be available directly from Razer, as well as in retail stores, starting March 25, 2023, and comes in either a black or white color scheme. In terms of price, the good piece has an MSRP of 119.99 Euros. And is thus more expensive than many a mouse that wants to be operated on it.
