The Razer Wolverine V2 Pro is a new professional controller for PS5 and PC. The wireless gamepad relies on Razer HyperSpeed Wireless, Razer Mecha-Tactile Action Buttons, Razer HyperTrigger, an 8-way micro-switch D-pad, and 6 programmable buttons.
The Razer Wolverine V2 Pro in detail
With the Wolverine series, Razer has been offering high-quality gamepads for PC and consoles for quite some time, most recently with the Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma, for example, which convinced across the board in our review from April.
With the Razer Wolverine V2 Pro, they are now launching a wireless gamepad for PC and PlayStation 5 that takes up the look of the other sibling models. The asymmetrical arrangement of the analog sticks is particularly interesting for PlayStation gamers, since Sony itself relies on sticks of the same height.
“The Razer Wolverine V2 Pro brings a whole new level of speed and performance to competitive gaming,” says Richard Hashim, Head of Mobile & Console Division. This includes, for example, Razer Mecha-Tactile Action Buttons with only 0.65mm of actuation travel, 30% less than the average membrane controller.
Fighting games, for example, benefit from the 8-way micro-switch D-pad that lets you hear and feel every move and directional input. On the other hand, the Wolverine V2 Pro triggers on the back, which are equipped with Razer HyperTrigger technology, are said to be particularly suitable for shooters and racing games. Thanks to HyperTrigger, you can also switch from a long button stroke to a quick tactile click that’s supposed to be close to a mouse click.
Customizable and with high connectivity
With 6 programmable buttons and interchangeable analog sticks, the Razer Wolverine V2 Pro offers numerous custom layouts for any gaming style. The four additional triggers and two custom bumpers can be assigned different functions to perform quick important actions without having to reach around.
The analog sticks can also be customized with alternative caps. In addition, the controller supports Razer Chroma RGB, offering over 16.8 million colors and a range of effects via the Razer™ controller app for iOS and Android.
The Wolverine V2 Pro is equipped with Razer HyperSpeed Wireless. As a result, it offers an ultra-fast 2.4 GHz wireless connection via the included USB Type-A dongle, ensuring seamless, low-latency performance on PS5 consoles and PCs.
