soundcore Motion x600: Bluetooth speaker with long battery life and spatial audio

soundcore has introduced a new Bluetooth speaker and expands the Motion series with the new soundcore Motion x600 model. The benefits include a Hi-Fi sound including Spatial Audio, a long battery life and a customizable equalizer.

The Motion Boom Plus (our review) is followed by the Bluetooth speaker soundcore Motion x600 from the Anker subsidiary, which aims to convince especially on the sound level. According to the manufacturer, the premium design is supposed to be based on the design of modern, extravagant concert halls. I don’t really see that now, but well.

The speaker, which is available in polar gray, aurora green and moon blue, is made of sturdy aluminum and has a discreet handle to take it anywhere. The 30 cm x 8.1 cm x 12 cm speaker weighs in at 1.98 kilograms.

Sound-wise, the soundcore Motion x600 relies on Hi-Red audio and that too wirelessly via Bluetooth. It supports the high-resolution LDAC codec for up to 900 kilobits per second. The output power is 50 watts and that even in Spatial Audio thanks to a special chip and algorithm.

Virtual spatial sound and long battery life

Stereo sound is thus converted into spatial 3-channel sound, while a digital “cinema speaker-style signal processing” is said to reproduce 8 times the power. Five audio drivers (two woofers, one tweeter double and one full-range driver and three amplifiers) can be found in the compact speaker.

In addition, the soundcore Motion x600 has an IPX7 certification and is protected against water. The 6,400 mAh battery is supposed to provide up to 12 hours of battery life, and it is charged via USB Type-C.

It plays music either wirelessly in Bluetooth 5.3 standard or via AUX cable. An equalizer that can be individually adjusted on nine levels offers the possibility to customize the sound via the soundcore app for iOS and Android.

In any case, this all sounds pretty exciting. Time will tell, however, if the soundcore Motion x600 can take on the best Bluetooth speakers, such as the similarly sized Marshall Acton III (our review).

Price and availability

The soundcore Motion x600 already has the price advantage on its side. The manufacturer’s recommended retail price is 199.00 euros. However, you can save a whole 50 euros via the official website at launch until May 8, 2023. From May 9, the soundcore Motion X600 will be available at soundcore, Amazon.de and in stores.
