Anyone who had previously set up a PC with Audacity, probably the most popular sound program on the market, was faced with a problem: The LAME MP3 recorder had to be downloaded separately. However, this was a rather difficult undertaking. Now the problem is solved: Since old patents have expired, it will be integrated into Audacity starting with version 2.3.2.
So whoever downloads the open source program in the future no longer has to take care of the MP3 recorder himself, but can use it directly. This significantly minimizes the installation effort.
The change affects both the Windows and Mac versions of Audacity.
