Twitch lowers subscription prices in Germany

It’s finally official: As of now, Twitch is lowering the prices for subscriptions in Germany. The current prices for subs are dropping by a whopping 20 percent in Germany, so viewers can save cash.

Price cut for Twitch subscriptions

The streaming platform has decided to reduce the prices for tier 1 subs in Germany from 4.99 euros to 3.99 euros. Internationally, there is also a price reduction, which varies depending on the country. In this country, this corresponds to a reduction of 20 percent.

These new country-specific prices are intended to “better reflect the cost of living for subscribers in the context of current developments in the Creator Economy,” according to official sources.

The lower price is intended to help content creators build their community faster. The lower subscription price means more viewers are willing to sign up for a sub, they say. However, Twitch reserves the right to change the subscription prices again in the future.

According to Twitch, as a pioneer of the creator economy and subscription monetization, it has enabled hundreds of thousands of streamers to earn a regular income over the past ten years. Meanwhile, an average of more than 850,000 people generate revenue through commerce or advertising on Twitch each month.
