UGREEN Nexode RG: GaN charger with LED display launches

Manufacturer UGREEN is known for its high-quality peripherals. However, these tend to have an inconspicuous, gray design. The new UGREEN Nexode RG, which looks like a friendly little robot thanks to its shape and LED display, is completely different. It goes on sale immediately.

UGREEN Nexode RG: Cute robot charger

Whether for the kids or as an eye-catcher in your own home, the UGREEN Nexode RG looks very different from all other GaN chargers. But in addition to a cute design, the charger also has modern technology to offer.

The robot design of the latest charger from the manufacturer’s Nexode series, which includes models such as the Nexode Pro 100W (our test), is of course striking. The RG is based on the design of a robot and comes in either black or pink. The charger measures 46.8 mm x 42.7 mm x 87.5 mm and weighs 167 grams.

At the top, i.e. in the head, the manufacturer has installed an LED display that shows the charging status of connected devices in the form of a face. This display provides information on whether devices are currently charging, the charging process is complete or no devices are connected.

65 watts of power

The charger has three ports located on the top: Two USB-C and one USB-A are provided, which combined achieve an output of up to 65 watts.

The upper USB-C port offers the full 65 watts, the lower one a maximum of 30 watts and 22.5 watts via USB-A. As is typical for GaN, the power is divided between the ports when more devices are connected, so that the 65 watts are achieved in total.

Various fast charging protocols such as PowerDelivery, QuickCharge, SCP or FCA are supported. The power plug is located under a cap on the underside, which has the design of shoes and allows the charger to be placed on a table or other surface.

Of course, the UGREEN Nexode RG offers plenty of safety technologies such as Thermal Guard, which keeps an eye on heat development, or a GanFast chip, which is designed to improve efficiency.

Price and availability

The UGREEN Nexode RG is now available in stores. The manufacturer’s RRP is 49.99 euros, but you can currently save 20 percent and end up paying just 39.99 euros.
