Xiaomi 14: New flagship from China to cost 1.100 Euros

Prices for flagship smartphones continue to skyrocket year after year. This not only applies to the market giants Apple and Samsung. Xiaomi is also apparently offering its latest flagship in its own smartphone line-up at a significantly higher price. According to rumors, the Xiaomi 14, which has already been available in China for several months, will cost just under €1,100 in Europe.

Xiaomi 14 Pro initially only in China

With a starting price of 1,100 euros, the Xiaomi 14 would be almost exactly 100 euros more expensive than its popular predecessor in the form of the Xiaomi 13. Although this may not be a huge amount, the price increase seems quite fair in view of the significantly better technical features. This becomes particularly clear when looking at the RAM and flash memory. While the Xiaomi 13 “only” had 8 GB RAM and 256 GB flash memory to offer, the latest version comes with 12 GB and 512 GB. Industry insiders from the Greek tech website Techmaniacs.gr claim to have obtained the price details from confidential sources.

Impressive technical data

It’s probably not just the price of the upcoming top smartphone that has been leaked. The unnamed source also claims to have learned that the Xiaomi 14 Pro will not be released in Europe. Instead, the company may launch another “Ultra version” on the market later this year, as was the case with the Xiaomi 13 Ultra presented in April 2023. However, whether a Pro model is even needed is more than questionable given the impressive features of the Xiaomi 14. After all, the Chinese tech company has a real highlight in the pipeline here. At its heart is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 from Qualcomm. This should make the Xiaomi 14 one of the most powerful smartphones on the market.

The 6.36-inch OLED panel, which comes with a resolution of 2,670 x 1,200 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, also sounds promising. The triple camera on the back, which was developed in collaboration with Leica, is designed to ensure impressive snapshots. This consists of a main camera, telephoto lens and super wide-angle lens. All three cameras should have a high-performance sensor with a resolution of 50 MP. There is of course also a selfie camera at the front. This is said to offer a whopping 32 MP resolution. The 4,610 mAh battery should also ensure endurance.

Presentation in February

We probably won’t have to wait too long to find out whether there is any truth behind the price rumors. Xiaomi wants to officially present its upcoming flagship for the European market at the end of February. A starting price will certainly not be missing from the presentation.
