Fiido C11 Review: affordable and good e-bike for the city

The manufacturer Fiido has already proven several times in the past that good e-bikes do not necessarily have to be expensive. For example, the Fiido D4S folding e-bike even won the Gold Award in our test at the time and hardly had any significant faults. Although the C11 cannot be folded, it is a high-quality and comfortable city e-bike that is extremely suitable for urban traffic. Find out more in our Fiido C11 review.

Fiido C11 Review: scope of delivery and assembly

  • convincing, generous scope of delivery
  • 95 percent pre-assembled
  • very easy to set up

As is the case with an e-bike purchased online, the Fiido C11 also needs to be assembled first. The large, 31.5 kg box gives rise to the hope that the bike is not disassembled into too many individual parts, and this is indeed the case.

Fiido packs the e-bike almost fully assembled in the box and includes accessories and tools required for assembly in a separate package. Only the front wheel and accessories such as the handlebars, lights and stand need to be fitted. The individual components are protected from transport damage by generous insulation and cable ties.

Very practical: as the accessories box is divided into different levels, we can assemble the bike step by step. This is also very simple, especially as all the necessary tools are also included.

Assembly in the Fiido C11 test was correspondingly simple and quick. There were no problems when assembling our test model. The pannier rack, mudguards and saddle were also fitted excellently at the factory. Once everything is in place, just connect the power cable and check the tire pressure and the C11 is ready for its first test ride.

Fiido C11 test: design and workmanship

  • Step-through design for men and women
  • chic color scheme
  • good workmanship

Fiido offers the C11 in two colors: white and emerald blue. The latter color can also be seen on our test model and scores points with its anodized finish, which sometimes has a bluish or greenish shimmer depending on the incidence of light.

Overall, the e-bike has a length of 1,820 mm and a total height with handlebars of 1,150 mm, weighing in at 24.5 kg when fully assembled.

However, it is not particularly compact and light, but the high weight speaks for convincing workmanship, which we can confirm. The welded seams are well made, the entire aluminum construction feels robust and of high quality – nothing wobbles or creaks. Excellent, especially considering the low price.

As a step-through bike, the C11 has a low step-through and is therefore aimed equally at men and women who are between 150 cm and 200 cm tall. The maximum load capacity is 120 kg and therefore in the good range.

The ergonomic and pleasantly soft Velo saddle, which hugs your backside very comfortably, and the robust suspension fork on the front axle, which is designed to effectively compensate for uneven terrain, promise a comfortable ride. If desired, this can also be locked by means of a rotary wheel and can thus be adapted to the route, weight and desired comfort.

The whole thing is combined with bright LED lighting at the front and rear, with the front light even turning with your movements and shining exactly where the light is needed in the dark.

The 500 Wh battery is located in the center of the Fiido C11 frame and can be easily removed and charged anywhere. It is also protected against theft by a lock.

The features of the Fiido C11

  • powerful motor
  • high-quality components
  • Starting aid and horn not StVZO-compliant

There is not much to complain about when it comes to the Fiido C11’s equipment either. The e-bike is equipped with a powerful, brushless 500 W motor (up to 678 watts at its peak) on the rear wheel, which delivers a torque of 55 Nm and accelerates the C11 up to 25 km/h.

The city e-bike offers a total of five riding modes, which can be conveniently set via the LC display on the handlebars. This is easy to read and also provides information on range, battery charge status and more. It also has a USB-A port on the underside, which can be used to charge smartphones and other devices.

To maximize comfort, the height and angle of the C11 handlebars can be adjusted to suit your body. The bike is accelerated by a 6-speed gearbox from Shimano, while hydraulic disc brakes ensure effective deceleration.

According to the manufacturer, the IP54-protected Fiido C11 achieves a convincing range of up to 90 kilometers, which is a good but by no means outstanding value. By comparison, the Urtopia Carbon One (our test) only achieves 60 km, contrary to the manufacturer’s specifications. The C11 also settles in this range in practice.

The empty battery can then either be charged in the bike or removed. However, it is important to note that the enclosed power supply does not like water and should therefore be charged in a dry place. A full charge takes around five hours.

The throttle or starting aid on the left-hand side is somewhat problematic for German road traffic, as it is not actually permitted in this country, but can be quickly and easily removed if required. The extra-loud horn must also be replaced with a standard bicycle bell in accordance with the StVZO if you plan to ride in traffic.

Fiido C11 Review: The riding comfort is pleasing

  • high level of comfort thanks to soft seat
  • successful, adjustable suspension
  • practical Fiido app

The combination of a soft saddle, convincing suspension and comfortable 700C tires ensures a convincing ride comfort in the Fiido C11 test. And not just on perfectly paved roads, but also on rougher terrain such as cobblestones and even the odd dirt track.

There is nothing to complain about ergonomically either. Adjusting the bike to your own body is no problem thanks to the adjustable saddle and handlebar height. This means that even small riders can enjoy the high level of comfort, even though the C11 is quite large and correspondingly heavy.

Operation of the C11 also works flawlessly. It can also be extended via the practical Fiido app for Android and iOS, which can also be used to make numerous settings or display parameters for range, battery charge and much more.

Fiido C11 Review: Conclusion

The Fiido C11 once again impressively proves that a convincing and well-equipped e-bike does not necessarily have to cost several thousand euros. The design and choice of materials offer no cause for criticism and the high-quality equipment also suggests a much more expensive vehicle.

Of course, the workmanship is not quite on a par with more expensive competitors, but we had nothing really to complain about here in the test. The ride comfort and drive also do an impeccable job, even if the range in reality is of course well below the manufacturer’s specification.

The components that are not StVZO-compliant are particularly annoying – namely the starting aid up to 25 km/h and the extremely loud horn. Although both can be easily removed and inexpensively replaced, and in some cases even deactivated in the companion app.

If you don’t mind, the Fiido C11 is an all-round convincing e-bike for city traffic at an almost unbeatable price that is simply fun to ride.
