Despite its fresh foundation, the two-year-old company Heybike has already been able to celebrate some notable successes in the field of electromobility. In the meantime, the company has sold more than 80,000 e-bikes worldwide. With the Heybike E-Bike EC 1, the manufacturer now wants to build on the successes already celebrated with the E-MTB Tyson.
Heybike E-Bike EC 1 and EC 1-ST: Perfect bikes for the city
Thanks to a frame made of a flexible aluminum alloy, the Heybike E-Bike EC 1 is pleasingly light. With the battery installed, it weighs just 2.3kg. Visually, the e-bike also makes quite an impression. This is mainly due to the fact that it is hardly recognizable as an e-bike. The manufacturer has simply built the battery into the frame. The 250W electric motor supports you in Pedals Mode, Pedal Assist Mode or Electric Mode. You should be able to ride at speeds of up to 25 km/h with these modes. The manufacturer specifies a range of 80 to 100 kilometers. Once the battery is empty, you don’t have to lug the bike back to your apartment for charging.
Instead, you can conveniently remove the battery to then charge it in your home. For the rear derailleur, Heybike relies on a 7-speed gearbox from Shimano. The practicality also makes it clear that the Heybike E-Bike EC 1 should feel right at home in urban areas. After all, it comes with a practical luggage rack on which you should be able to transport loads weighing up to 45kg. The total load for the bike is a maximum of 150kg. You have the choice between two frame sizes. While size M is suitable for a body height between 160 and 190 cm, size L is aimed at a person with a height between 160 and 200 cm.
Hydraulic disc brakes and an extensive lighting system again ensure maximum safety in road traffic. Equipped with 27.5-inch tires, the e-bike aims to score points primarily with its impressive price-performance ratio. At first glance at the technical data, the plan seems to work out quite well. Those who prefer a low entry level will again get their money’s worth with the Heybike EC 1-ST e-bike. This brings the extensive equipment of the standard version, but scores with its ergonomic frame shape with a little more comfort when getting on.
