After all, mites in bed can have a negative impact on sleep without being noticed and are invisible to the naked eye. To counteract this, the BD7 Pro has a UV-C light and ultrasonic technology to eliminate up to 99.9% of all microorganisms on a wide variety of surfaces.
With a convincing design and cordless operation combined with a powerful effect, the new BD7 Pro from JIMMY sounds very promising. So today we are taking a closer look at the anti-mite vacuum cleaner and testing whether the product lives up to its price of €160 (currently € 219.99 *).

The scope of delivery of the JIMMY BD7 Pro includes not only the dust mite vacuum cleaner itself but also the corresponding power supply unit. The 2,000 mAh battery and a second HEPA filter are each individually packaged. A cleaning brush and the usual operating instructions for technical devices round off the scope of delivery.

The JIMMY BD7 Pro is ready for use within a few minutes after unpacking. Assembly is child’s play, as all you have to do is insert the removable battery at the back of the vacuum cleaner. To do this, simply press in the battery release. The battery can then be inserted into the front of the JIMMY BD7 Pro. A short click sound when it clicks into place indicates that the process has been successfully completed.
Before using the JIMMY BD7 Pro for the first time, it should now be fully charged so that the best runtime can be achieved. When unpacking, our test product still had a remaining battery of approx. 50%. The mains adapter can be connected to the left-hand side of the BD7 Pro and a full charge takes up to 4 hours.

Overall, the design of the Jimmy BD7 Pro makes a good impression. It looks really good with the gray cover and also feels solid in the hand with the handle on the back. However, at 2.3 kg, the JIMMY BD7 Pro is by no means a lightweight. This is mainly due to the fact that the battery accounts for a large part of this weight for cordless operation.
In terms of workmanship, the JIMMY BD7 Pro once again impresses across the board. The device never rattles and the buttons have a very good pressure point. The built-in display is sufficiently bright and the sensors on the underside also give a very good feeling that as many mites and other particles as possible can be sucked in. The JIMMY BD7 Pro can be used for separate fabrics. This ranges from bedding and pet hair to carpets and even items of clothing.

The JIMMY BD7 Pro uses an LED screen on the right-hand side to provide information about the current suction mode, the status of the battery and, for example, the degree of soiling on the surface. The BD7 Pro has a normal cleaning mode, a turbo mode and a power mode. The latter function mode combines all of the device’s features and activates the vacuum function, knocking, UV light and also the negative ions for air purification. All functions can be switched via a button on the hand holder. The button above it serves as an on/off switch.
If we look at the underside, the first thing we notice is the rubber roller brush. Thanks to the motor’s special mode of operation with powerful high-frequency beating, all kinds of allergens and dust mites are shaken up and then drawn in. When the JIMMY BD7 Pro is in operation, a purple-looking light appears on the underside. This serves to eliminate further particles and is automatically deactivated when the dust mite vacuum cleaner loses contact with the floor. To prevent the mites from growing in the long term, the round ultrasonic generator appears. The sensor is located between the rubber roller brush and the UV light.

Now that the battery is fully charged, we can get straight down to the mite removal. We use the Emma One mattress with mattress protector, which is around a year old, and a sofa from 2019 as test objects. This much in advance: it is both amazing and disgusting what a dust mite vacuum cleaner can still remove from the upholstery, unlike a conventional vacuum cleaner.
After vacuuming the mattress for the first time, the rear cup is already filled with mite remains and their excrement, but several hairs also appear in between. This arrives in the collection container in the form of a white-grey powder. For the best possible cleaning effect, the mattress is now turned over and a second run is carried out on the reverse side. After a few minutes, the sofa also receives a dust mite cleaning, which was indeed urgently necessary due to its age. Despite frequent cleaning with a cloth and the use of a vacuum cleaner and no visible dirt on the surfaces mentioned, the results in the 0.5 liter dust container are clear.
During the test, we were very impressed by the display with the integrated dust indicator, which shows the surface to be vacuumed in color. It quickly shows whether the current section of upholstery requires an additional vacuum pass or whether it does not need any further cleaning. During the elimination of the numerous particles, a chemical odor can be detected, but it does not smell unpleasant. However, the anti-mite vacuum cleaner became warm on the underside from time to time. In addition, the JIMMY BD7 Pro can get really loud during operation, which the manufacturer claims to be up to 78 decibels. In summary, the JIMMY BD7 Pro does an impressive job and the multiple modes are also convincing, albeit at the expense of the noise level and low heat development.

Both the roller brush and the bagless double cup of the JIMMY BD7 Pro can be removed using the latches provided and are washable. This ultimately simplifies cleaning enormously and the accumulated dirt ends up in the bin within a short time. The manufacturer also includes a second HEPA filter in the scope of delivery.
All debris ends up in the rear cup, which has a release button on the bottom cover. When the work is done, we can therefore hold the double cup over the waste and press the release button and the dust and other debris disappears downwards. The HEPA filter in the front cup can be pulled up via the pink cover and then cleaned with the small cleaning brush. The double cup can then be completely rinsed out with water so that even the last residues are removed.
Conclusion
As inconspicuous as the JIMMY BD7 Pro looks, the more amazing the result is. Both the mattress and the sofa were cleaned flawlessly, leaving a much more pleasant feeling afterwards. The handling of the dust mite vacuum cleaner is also impressive and within a short time any particles end up in the bin thanks to the removable double cup.
In summary, the BD7 Pro proved to be a useful tool in the fight against mites and allergens. With strong suction power and special functions such as the UV light or ultrasonic technology, it offers thorough cleaning to eliminate allergy-causing mites.
Nevertheless, the effectiveness of such a product against mites cannot be independently verified. After all, JIMMY advertises that the BD7 Pro has been successfully certified by Allergy UK. As is so often the case, private individuals must have a healthy level of trust in the manufacturer and be able to rely on such certifications. Consequently, nothing stands in the way of a purchase.
