Acer presents gaming notebooks Nitro 16 and 17

Acer has introduced two new gaming notebooks from the Nitro series. The Nitro 16 and Nitro 17 are equipped with either the latest AMD or Intel processor and should also meet the highest demands thanks to a 40-series GeForce graphics card and efficient cooling.

CPU from AMD or Intel

Both notebooks are equipped with the latest processors from AMD or Intel. Interested users can choose from a wide range from the Ryzen series or the 13th generation Intel Core here. Both devices also feature an Nvidia GeForce 40-series graphics card, which supports the CPU together with up to 32 GB of DDR5 working memory and thus contributes to the gaming notebook’s performance.

The two new Nitron notebooks also have their ventilation equipment in common. They both have two pre-installed fans, four fan outlets on the sides and on the back, and a top air intake. In addition, there is liquid metal heat paste that is supposed to further optimize cooling. Thanks to NitroSense software and a NitroSense button, users should be able to constantly control the heat development of their device.

The Nitro 16 and Nitro 17 are also equipped with a camera, two microphones and two speakers as well as a variety of connectivity options. These include an HDMI 2.1 port, a microSD card reader, a USB 2.0 port, a USB 4 port, a USB 3.2-C port with Power Delivery, and two USB 3.2 ports. In addition, both notebooks support Intel Killer LAN E2600 and Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E.

Specifications of the Nitro 16

The smaller new Nitro 16 notebook measures 16 inches in screen size and offers a refresh rate of 165 Hz. It supports NVIDIA Advanced Optimus technology, which allows switching between the discrete GPUs and the lower-power integrated GPU during operation. This way, the device’s energy consumption can be reduced. The Nitro 16’s display covers 100 percent of the sRGB color space and offers a screen-to-body ratio of 84 percent. Rounding out the features is a 125.0 mm x 76.7 mm touchpad and a 4-zone RGB backlit keyboard.

Specifications of the Nitro 17

The Nitro 17 is larger than the other new model with a 17.3-inch display. The display is available in two variants: with FullHD resolution and a refresh rate of 144 Hz, and with QHD resolution and a refresh rate of 165 Hz. The Nitro 17’s screen-to-body ratio is 81 percent, the touchpad measures 125.0 mm x 81.6 mm, and the keyboard’s 4-zone backlighting is also a given.

Prices and Availability

The model versions with AMD processors are available now at prices starting at EUR 1,449 (Nitro 16) and EUR 1,499 (Nitro 17). The model versions with Intel processors will follow in mid-May, starting at EUR 1,499 (Nitro 16) and EUR 1,549 (Nitro 17).
