Alienware Aurora R15: Refresh of the gaming PC with GeForce RTX 4090

With the Alienware Aurora R15, the brand belonging to Dell has introduced a new edition of the popular gaming PC. The high-end PC relies on the latest Intel processors up to the Intel Core i9 13900KF and the latest Nvidia and AMD graphics cards up to the GeForce RTX 4090 or Radeon RX6900 XT.

The Alienware Aurora R15 high-end gaming PC in detail

The new Alienware Aurora R15 is said to combine the maximum performance with the optimized case of the Legend 2.0 series and score with a new cooling system and technology.

All configurations rely on hexagonal side air vents, while an optional side panel made of glass also allows a view inside. A water cooling system with a 240 mm radiator and, for Intel K-series CPUs, five 120 mm case fans are already installed ex-works.

The new cooling system is said to have improved the airflow by 19 percent, while the CPU performs demanding tasks 66 percent quieter and the GPU at least 9 percent quieter. The developers have also worked on the cable management, so that no connections and cables disturb the airflow.

Killer E3100G provides Gigabit LAN and fast Wi-Fi 6 or 6E on all models. The customizable AlienFX lighting also now offers up to eight customizable lighting zones. The rear panel also holds a magnetic cable cover to hide cables that protrude from the case.

Ready for high-end components

Just in time for the launch of the 13th generation of Intel Core processors, the Alienware Aurora R15 is perfectly equipped. Here you have the choice between the following CPUs:

  • 13th Gen Intel Core i5 13600K (14-Core, 44MB Total Cache, 3.5Ghz to 5.1GHz P-Core @ Max Turbo)
  • 13th Gen Intel Core i5 13600KF (14-Core, 44MB Total Cache, 3.5Ghz to 5.1GHz P-Core @ Max Turbo)
  • 13th Gen Intel Core i7 13700K (16-Core, 54MB Total Cache, 3.4GHz to 5.4GHz P-Core w/Intel Turbo Boost Max 3.0)
  • 13th Gen Intel Corei7 13700KF (16-Core, 54MB Total Cache, 3.4GHz to 5.4GHz P-Core w/Intel Turbo Boost Max 3.0)
  • 13th Gen Intel Core i9 13900K (24-Core, 68MB Total Cache, 3.0GHz to 5.8GHz P-Core w/Intel Thermal Velocity Boost)
  • 13th Gen Intel Core i9 13900KF (24-Core, 68MB Total Cache, 3.0GHz to 5.8GHz P-Core w/Intel Thermal Velocity Boost)

Alienware combines these with 8GB to a maximum of 64GB of fast DDR5 memory at 4,800MB/s, as well as 2256GB to 4TB of NVMe-M.2 SSD storage. You can also choose from various graphics cards from Nvidia and AMD.

The GeForce RTX 3050 with 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM, the RTX 3090 Ti with 24 GB GDDR6X VRAM and the GeForce RTX4090 24 GB with GDDR6X are just some of the options. In the AMD camp, the gaming PC starts with the Radeon RX 6500 XT with 4GB GDDR6, with a maximum of the Radeon RX 6900 XT with 16GB GDDR6 being offered.

The power supply features at least 750 watts of power and can optionally be increased up to 1,350 watts. The Alienware Aurora R15 is offered in the colors Lunar Light and Dark Side of the Moon. 44 liters find room inside, while the case with components weighs a maximum of 16.5 kg.

Pricing and Availability of the Aurora R15

The manufacturer plans to announce details on the Alienware Aurora R15’s pricing and availability in the fall of 2022, when it will be available on the vendor’s website. However, the entry-level models should already be significantly more expensive than the Aurora Ryzen Edition R14, which was introduced in spring.
