Amazon Basics: First PC component in the form of CPU cooler

Amazon Basics is the low-priced house brand of the online shipping giant. For a long time, the label was mainly used for smaller household appliances, but also for other everyday helpers. Now the first PC hardware is coming from Amazon Basics. The company is getting support from a renowned expert in the field of PC components. The Amazon Basics computer fan, CPU air cooler, 4 heat pipes, RGB LED PWM, aluminum fins is actually a cooler from Cooler Master. However, Amazon offers the hardware at a lower price.

Amazon Basics rededicates Cooler Master Hyper H410R RGB

Those who decide to buy products from the Amazon Basics brand are not looking for high quality. Rather, the focus here is on the price-performance ratio. This has now proven itself for several years in the field of everyday things. Starting with the HDMI cable and a desk chair all the way to a large-format pavilion for the next garden party, you can get almost everything here. In the area of PC hardware, however, you’ve been left out in the cold until now. This is changing with the new low-priced CPU cooler from Amazon Basics. In order to deliver an appropriate quality, the online retailer leaves nothing to chance.

After all, the device is originally from Cooler Master. In fact, from the product information, we can see that Cooler Master did not design the cooler exclusively for Amazon. It is rather a repurposed Hyper H410R RGB, which Cooler Master also sells itself. However, there are supposed to be small differences. For example, the Cooler Master logo is not emblazoned on the cooler. This is also reflected in the price. While Cooler Master calls 31.60 euros for its H410R RGB, the CPU fan from Amazon Basics comes in at a price of 24.48 euros.

Compact design for small systems

Given the price, you can’t expect high-end technology, of course. Rather, the CPU cooler is supposed to be best suited for small PC systems. Thereby, Amazon Basics states a maximum noise level of 29.38 dBA, which is pleasantly quiet. The fan speed is said to be between 600 and 2,000 rpm. To ensure good heat dissipation, the manufacturer relies on four heat pipes, which are supposed to offer direct contact technology.

Reliable airflow is again said to be provided by the stacked design of the aluminum fins. The look of the 10.2 x 8.3 x 13.6 cm cooler is also said to come in a cool design thanks to the RGB LED controller. Last but not least, the product page talks about easy installation and removal thanks to the snap-in bracket. The system is compatible with LGA 1700, LGA 1200, LGA 1151, LGA 1150, LGA 1155, LGA 1156, AM4 and AM5.
