Anyone who wants to integrate their iPad Pro, iPad Air or Android tablet with a USB-C port into everyday office life is likely to turn to a tablet stand sooner or later, which significantly improves ergonomics.

With the Anker 551, the accessory specialist has now presented an exciting and clever solution to further advance the capabilities of a modern tablet as a genuine notebook replacement. The tablet stand 551, which weighs 650 grams and measures 143 × 141 × 28 mm, does not look very exciting at first.

It offers a 70-degree adjustable arm and can be folded compactly to save space on the desk or in the laptop bag. The tablet holder rotates 180 degrees and features a non-slip silicone surface, as well as a sturdy aluminum design. However, things get really exciting in the chunky stand.

USB-C hub in the stand

The stand of the Anker 551 tablet stand is where the real innovation lies, in the form of an 8-in-1 USB-C hub. When connected via USB-C to a compatible tablet such as the iPad Pro (in 11 and 12.9 inches), iPad Air or other tablets with a corresponding port, numerous possibilities open up.

A 4K60Hz-capable HDMI 2.0 port, one USB-C PowerDelivery with up to 100 watts of power, two USB-A with a speed of 5 Gbit/s, one 3.5 mm jack, and one microSD and SD card slot each (according to UHS-I standard for a maximum of 104 MB/s) are available.
