UGREEN Revodok Pro 13-in-1 test – docking station with a wide range of connections

With the Revodok Pro 13-in-1 (313), Chinese manufacturer UGREEN is expanding its extensive range of docking stations. The Revodok Pro 13-in-1 is very similar to the Revodok 11-in-1 (test) that we have already tested, but also offers a DisplayPort connection and an additional USB connection. It therefore offers a total of 13 outputs, including 2x HDMI, 1x DisplayPort and 5x USB. Find out how the UGREEN Revodok Pro 13-in-1 performs in practice in our test.

Scope of delivery

The UGREEN Revodok Pro 13-in-1 comes in a compact white box with green accents. The design of the box corresponds to that of the manufacturer’s other current docking stations. On the front you will find a picture of the docking station, a list of connections and a logo indicating support for resolutions up to 4K/60 Hz. On the back, you will also find a detailed list of the connections, including their number and specifications.

Inside the box, in addition to the Revodok Pro 13-in-1, you will only find a user manual. A USB-C connection cable is permanently connected to the docking station. A charger for USB-C Power Delivery must be purchased separately. UGREEN itself offers the new Nexode Pro chargers (link to the manufacturer), among others.

Design and workmanship

The housing of the UGREEN Revodok Pro 13-in-1 is predominantly made of gray aluminum, the short sides are covered with black plastic. The base is almost square and, at 71 x 166 mm, 20 mm wider than the Revodok 11-in-1. The height is unchanged at 20 mm. The slightly larger dimensions increase the weight to 233 g, making the Revodok Pro 13-in-1 even more suitable as a USB hub for on the go.

The docking station’s ports are all located on the long sides of the housing. The USB-C type connection cable is another ~20 cm long and is attached to one of the short sides of the housing. The advantage of the fixed cable is that you don’t need a separate cable, which you can forget when you’re out and about. The disadvantage is that you cannot simply replace it with a new or, for example, longer cable. The underside is also unchanged, so there are no rubber strips to prevent the docking station from slipping and scratching the surface.

The material quality and workmanship of the UGREEN Revodok Pro 13-in-1 were impressive in the test. The aluminum housing is high-quality and well-made, the only point of criticism is the lack of rubber strips on the underside.

Connections of the UGREEN Revodok Pro 13-in-1

The UGREEN Revodok Pro 13-in-1 is connected to the computer with the fixed connection cable via USB-C and offers 13 outputs. There are 4 USB ports on the side usually facing the user, 3x of which are Type-A and 1x Type-C. The transfer rate is 10 Gbps, with the exception of one type A port with 5 Gbps. There is also a 3.5 mm jack connection and a card reader with an SD and a TF slot (MicroSD).

The other connections are located on the side facing away from the user. These include 2x HDMI, 1x DP, 2x USB and 1x RJ45. The supported resolution of the video outputs is up to 4K/60 Hz for both HDMI connections and the DisplayPort connection. In multi-display mode, the mirroring modes AABB, ABBC and the extension mode ABCD are supported. The two USB ports are a Type-A port with a transfer rate of 5 Gbps and a Type-C port for USB-C Power Delivery. The latter supports up to 100 W and charges the connected notebook with up to 85 W.

The Revodok Pro 13-in-1 therefore offers the most important and most frequently required ports. These are also available in sufficient numbers and are up to date. While we criticized the lack of a DisplayPort connection on the Revodok 11-in-1, this is available here alongside the two HDMI connections.

Practical test of the UGREEN Revodok Pro 13-in-1

In the practical test, we used the UGREEN Revodok Pro 13-in-1 on a desktop PC and a notebook (Lenovo Yoga Pro 7). We also used the following devices, among others:

  • Charger: UGREEN Nexode Pro 100W (USB-C)
  • Monitor: MSI Optix MAG341CQ
  • external SSD: Crucial X10 Pro 2 TB (test)
  • external SSD: Kingston XS1000 1 TB (test )
  • Memory card: SanDisk Extreme microSDXC 128 GB
  • various wired keyboards

The UGREEN Revodok Pro 13-in-1 does not have a power button and is active as soon as the computer is switched on. An Ethernet driver was automatically downloaded and installed via Windows Update the first time it was started. Manual installation of additional drivers was not necessary. On subsequent starts, the docking station and the devices connected to it were always recognized quickly and reliably.

This also applies to the MSI Optix MAG341CQ monitor connected via DisplayPort. With another monitor connected via HDMI, we were able to use both the mirror mode and the extension mode without any problems. This gave us two monitors on the desktop PC and three on the notebook. We did not have another monitor for ABCD extension mode.

We also tested the performance of an external SSD and a microSD card in order to identify possible performance losses caused by the Revodok Pro 13-in-1. In the SSD test, we achieved up to 930 MB/s in the AS SSD benchmark and up to 992 MB/s in CrystalDiskMark with a Kingston XS1000 1 TB, which offers transfer rates of up to 1,050 MB/s. The Revodok 11-in-1 (CM681) achieved up to 1,047 MB/s in the test. However, the differences should hardly be relevant in everyday use. In the card reader test, we achieved up to 92 MB/s and thus a very similar result to the Revodok 11-in-1 (CM681) (91 MB/s). The Ethernet speed and also the ping remain unchanged when using the docking station.

UGREEN Revodok Pro 13-in-1 test: Conclusion

The UGREEN Revodok Pro 13-in-1 impresses in the test with its very large variety of connections and yet compact and well-made aluminum housing. The connections include 4x USB-A, 1x USB-C (10 Gbps) and 1x RJ45. The transfer speeds are high in practice, even if the external SSD was slightly slower than on the Revodok 11-in-1 (CM681). The video outputs include 2x HDMI and 1x DisplayPort, allowing up to 3 monitors to be connected. Overall, there is hardly anything left to be desired here.

The fixed connection cable gives cause for criticism. We would prefer a replaceable connection cable, also because it is quite short. The docking station also offers USB-C Power Delivery, but a charger must be purchased separately, which is also common in this price range.

The recommended retail price of the UGREEN Revodok Pro 13-in-1 is ~€130, which is €20 more than the Revodok 11-in-1 (CM681). Through coupons, the dock is currently already available for ~110 € (as of 11.02.2024), sometimes even a little cheaper. In our opinion, this is fair for this variety of connections.
