Apple: PowerBeats 4 with H1 chip come onto the market

Rumors about the upcoming market launch of PowerBeats 4 have been spreading for some time now. Now Apple seems to have quietly and silently launched the new premium headphones on the market. The wireless headphones are already available in some US stores.

Slight improvements over the predecessor

Apple has only made a few small improvements to the PowerBeats 4. For example, the Californian company has revised the design of the headphones. This should not only make a better visual impression. The new design should also be more comfortable to wear. Furthermore, the focus of PowerBeats 4 is clearly on sports applications. Unlike Apple’s AirPods, the PowerBeats 4 offer a practical additional bracket. This ensures a particularly firm fit in the ear. This makes the headphones the perfect companion for runners and other athletes.

advantages of the H1 chip

Another advantage of the new PowerBeats 4 is probably Apple’s own H1 chip. We already know this from Apple’s AirPods Pro. The H1 chip should allow an uncomplicated coupling between headphones and Apple devices. In addition, the H1 chip ensures that the wireless transmission is especially gentle on the battery. The PowerBeats 4 should thus be able to achieve a battery life of up to 15 hours. Furthermore, the H1 chip also enables a well-known and popular Apple service. So Siri can be activated at any time with a “Hey Siri”.

Price and availability

The first market launches have so far only taken place in the USA. There, PowerBeats 4 can be purchased at a price of about 150 USD (Walmart). This price is surprisingly low. After all, the predecessors were still priced at a hefty USD 200 when they were launched. It remains to be seen when the new sporty headphones will be launched in this country. The price, too, can only be speculated. However, a few points seem certain. If you want to use the extensive functions of the PowerBeats 4 completely, you need an iOS device with firmware 13.4. However, this update is still in beta phase. So one can assume that the Powerbeats 4 will be released on the German market in the course of the official release of iOS 13.4. In terms of price, the new headphones will certainly be oriented towards the US market. Therefore a price of 150 Euro is very likely.
