MSI CLUTCH GM51 Lightweight and Wireless: New gaming mice available now

Following the CLUTCH GM31 Lightweight and its wireless counterpart from January 2023, manufacturer MSI has now released two more gaming mice. The MSI CLUTCH GM51 Lightweight and CLUTCH GM51 Lightweight Wireless mark the manufacturer’s most advanced rodents to date. Both models are available in stores now.

MSI CLUTCH GM51 Lightweight and CLUTCH GM51 Lightweight Wireless in detail

The two gaming mice MSI CLUTCH GM51 Lightweight and CLUTCH GM51 Lightweight Wireless mark the successors of the manufacturer’s popular GM50 and rely on the same ergonomic hand shape, but come with numerous improvements.

Both models rely on an ergonomic shape that is supposed to prevent hand fatigue and are equipped with the MSI Diamond LightGrips on the sides, which provide the necessary grip with a double-injected, diamond-shaped anti-slip surface even in heated situations.

The wireless version weighs in at just 85 grams and boasts a resolution of 26,000 DPI, a speed of 600 IPS and a mouse acceleration of 50G. The wired gaming mouse weighs 10 grams less (75 grams) and otherwise offers the same specifications.

Both rodents rely on the modern PixArt PAW-3395 optical sensor, while the MSI CLUTCH GM51 Lightweight Wireless communicates almost instantaneously with a 2.4 GHz wireless technology (MSI SwiftSpeed). A Bluetooth connection is also possible in addition.

Long runtime or high polling rate

The mouse also supports two advanced charging solutions, including MSI Snap Charging (wired), which enables charging three times faster than comparable gaming mice. Using the included MSI Charging Dock, the mouse recharges via the standard method. The 550 mAh battery is supposed to provide a runtime of up to 150 hours.

The wired MSI CLUTCH GM51 Lightweight scores with a polling rate of a whopping 8,000 Hz – which sounds nice, of course, but in our eyes, after several tests of different gaming mice, doesn’t offer any significant advantage unless you’re an Esports pro.

The special FrixionFree cable minimizes friction on the mouse pad and desk. For the primary buttons, both gaming mice rely on durable OMRON switches that are rated for over 60 million clicks. Up to three profiles can be stored in onboard memory, while customization of the rodents is done via MSI’s Center software.
