Apple Vision Pro: demand for VR glasses is shrinking

The Californian tech company actually wanted to revolutionize the VR headset market with the Apple Vision Pro. However, according to industry insiders, interest among potential customers is now waning.

Will Apple Vision Pro be a disaster?

The reliable and always well-informed industry insider Mark Gurman has news to announce about the Apple Vision Pro. However, the tech company might not like it at all. The tech journalist working for Bloomberg has now made it public that sales of the VR headset are plummeting. In the US Apple stores, only a few headsets a week are currently being sold.

At the beginning, several headsets were sold per day. There is no doubt that these figures are plausible. After all, Gurman is referring to data from one of the Apple Stores in the USA. However, according to the journalist, the dwindling interest is probably not only reflected in the collapsing sales figures. On top of this, potential customers are probably dropping out of previously arranged hands-on appointments without further ado.

The tech company offers its customers the opportunity to try out the VR headset first. If the customer is satisfied, they can order the Apple Vision Pro directly online and collect it from the Apple Store. In itself, a decline in sales figures is completely normal in the life cycle of any tech gadget. However, if customers don’t even show up at a demo appointment, it seems that they simply don’t believe in the benefits of the device.

Gurman has a Vision Pro himself

It is quite interesting to listen to Gurman’s words. After all, he is not only an industry insider, but also owns an Apple Vision Pro himself. Accordingly, he is already in a position to share his everyday experiences of using the gadget. One of the most important questions is, of course, how often the VR headset is used at all.

According to the journalist, the hype was probably quite big at the beginning. He used the Apple Vision Pro as a welcome screen replacement for work and also watched movies on it. However, the fading initial euphoria apparently meant that he returned to classic devices such as monitors and televisions and now uses the Vision Pro much less frequently.
