ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12: Tri-band WiFi 6E mesh system available now

ASUS had already officially presented a new WiFi 6E ecosystem including the ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12 in September last year. Now the professional high-end router is finally available in stores. It offers tri-band 12-stream WiFi 6E, realizing speeds of up to 11,000 Mbps. The new ASUS RangeBoost Plus technology also increases the range by a whopping 38 percent compared to the previous generation.

ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12: All info and details

Those who want to pimp their home WLAN network properly now get the opportunity to do so with the ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12. After the high-performance racer was announced last fall, the high-performance Tri-Band WiFi 6E (802.11ax) mesh networking system is finally available.

In terms of design, the Pro ET12 relies on a modern, futuristic appearance including a transparent antenna compartment on the top. However, the inner values are much more exciting. The router achieves a maximum Wi-Fi performance of up to 11,000 Mbit per second.

Among other things, this is made possible by a 2.0 GHz 64-bit CPU and a powerful Broadcom Wi-Fi chipset. They enable the use of the 6 GHz band as a high-performance and at the same time low-interference backhaul connection between the individual nodes. Depending on the environment, the router always independently searches for and selects the best possible backhaul connection.

Powerful connectivity

The ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12 is one of the manufacturer’s first models to focus on the highest possible performance. In doing so, the two-node WiFi 6E mesh network system is powered by strong chips that increase throughput by up to 18 percent compared to the previous WiFi 6 platform.

The novel 12-stream design delivers combined total speeds of up to 11,000 Mbps across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz frequency bands. Here, the new 6 GHz frequency band is available only to WiFi 6E end devices and offers up to seven 160 MHz channels. This is intended to ensure a stable and fast connection with low interference in both the backhaul and the fronthaul.

For maximum performance, two 2.5 Gbit/s Ethernet ports are available for this purpose. They support link aggregation and thus enable ultra-fast speeds from the router to high-bandwidth systems such as NAS devices. These are joined by two additional RJ45 ports for 10/100/1000 Mbps.

The Pro ET12 has 10 internal antennas and supports IEEE 802.11ax, WiFi 6E, IPv4, IPv6 network standards. A maximum of 4,333 Mbps is realized wirelessly in the 5 GHz 802.11ac network, while up to 4,804 Mbps is possible in 802.11ax on both the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands.

ASUS RangeBoost Plus massively increases range

In addition, the ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12 relies on a newly developed and more powerful version of RangeBoost technology, which goes by the name ASUS RangeBoost Plus. It ensures an improvement in the range coverage of all devices on WiFi.

Combined with ASUS RF technology and other exclusive ASUS technologies, RangeBoost Plus improves WiFi signal range and coverage by up to 38 percent. The included two-node configuration is said to be sufficient for coverage of up to 6,000 square feet. In larger homes, coverage can be extended even further with any ASUS AiMesh-compatible router. The ZenWiFi Pro ET12 is also equipped with 256GB of flash memory and 1GB of RAM.

Prices and Availability

The ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12 is available in stores now. It is offered both individually at an MSRP of 509.95 euros and in a double pack, which then costs 909.95 euros. More information can be found directly on the manufacturer’s product website.
