Belkin: AirPlay for conventional systems with the Soundform Connect adapter

With the new Soundform Connect adapter, Belkin has introduced an audio adapter that turns traditional stereo systems into AirPlay 2 devices. The adapter is intended primarily for high-quality traditional systems, whose capabilities are to be expanded.

AirPlay 2 compatibility for various devices

In principle, the adapter can be used with all stereo systems that have a 3.5 mm jack plug or an optical input. Once connected to the adapter, the stereo system can be controlled via iPhones, iPads and other AirPlay devices and used to output music. Since AirPlay 2 is integrated into Apple’s Multiroom audio system, the stereo systems connected via adapter can subsequently also be used as part of a Multiroom setup. The power supply of the adapter is thereby ensured via USB-C cable.

Belkin puts focus on Apple accessories

The presentation of the adapter was not at all surprising, Belkin has recently focused strongly on the work on Apple accessories. In the past, for example, it has already unveiled the Soundform Elite AirPlay 2 speaker, which comes equipped with an iPhone charging dock. The recently introduced Secure Holder is also clearly designed for use with Apple’s products as a low-cost alternative to Apple’s AirTag mounts.

Price and Availability

The new adapter is expected to be available in retail stores soon. The suggested retail price is 99.99 euros.
