beyerdynamic Verio 200: Open-ear headphones with aptX Adaptive presented

With the beyerdynamic Verio 200, the manufacturer has presented its first open-ear headphones. Thanks to their over-the-ear design, they are said to offer a particularly high level of wearing comfort and support the aptX Adaptive codec.

The Shokz OpenFit Air (our test) and co. have competition from Germany. With the beyerdynamic Verio 200, the manufacturer has unveiled its first open-ear headphones, which aim to score points with particularly high wearing comfort and rich sound.

The headphones rest on the ears, leaving the ear canal free. The weight per earphone is just 10.8 grams, while the soft silicone and memory wire earpieces are designed to guarantee a comfortable and secure fit behind the ear.

However, the Verio 200 also want to impress in terms of sound quality and therefore feature the high-resolution Qualcomm aptX Adaptive codec, which is supported alongside AAC and SBC. The earphones combine this with two integrated microphones including cVc ambient noise suppression, which promise clear voice intelligibility.

Up to 8 hours of battery life

The beyerdynamic Verio 200 have a battery life of up to 8 hours, while the charging case adds a further 27 hours. There is also a quick-charging function, thanks to which the earphones are ready for 60 minutes of music playback in just 10 minutes.

They use the modern Bluetooth 5.3 standard and support simultaneous pairing with two audio sources thanks to Multipoint. The Verio 200 is also protected against splash water and sweat in accordance with IP54 and should therefore also cut a fine figure during training.

The open-ear headphones are operated via the touch-sensitive touch surfaces on the outside, while beyerdynamic provides a new app that includes a 5-band equalizer.

Price and availability

The beyerdynamic Verio 200 is now available in black, cream or as a sporty version in black and orange from both the manufacturer and Amazon. The recommended retail price is 199.00 euros.
