Bose presents Soundlink Flex

Resistant Bluetooth speakers are probably one of the most popular devices in the mobile speaker sector. Surprisingly, Bose has not yet launched a speaker with its Soundlink series that offers protection against water, dust and dirt. This is now to change with the Soundlink Flex. The robust Bluetooth speaker wants to score not only with reliable protection, but also with the typical Bose sound.

The perfect companion for the barbecue

Anyone who relies on wireless music enjoyment in the outdoor area should, if possible, reach for a resistant speaker. Quickly times a beer is tipped out or the box fell into the pool. To avoid the high costs of a new purchase, protection according to the IP67 standard is essential. This is exactly what the new Soundlink Flex offers. The chic Bluetooth speaker is not only robustly built, but also prevents the penetration of water and dirt. Even if the child has literally fallen into the well, you should not have a problem with the Soundlink Flex. Thus, the speaker should be able to put away even short diving phases up to a depth of one meter without any problems.

Resistant construction

As befits Bose, the company also relies on high build quality for its outdoor speaker. A jacket made of resistant silicone is supposed to provide protection. Bose protects the speaker itself with a cover made of powder-coated steel. This material combination is supposed to result in a very high protection. Even drops should be able to be absorbed without visual damage. Rust or the consequences of too much heat from the sun should also not be a problem for the speaker.

But the durable design is by no means meant to compromise on sound quality – at least according to Bose. The US company promises a sound image that is not possible better in this speaker size. Since the Soundlink Flex measures just 20 cm x 5.3 cm x 9.1 cm, it uses the in-house Bose PositionIQ technology for sound perfection. This allows the speaker to recognize its position and influences the sound output.

Sophisticated Bose PositionIQ Technology

The special PositionIQ technology sounds really exciting and makes it clear why the outdoor speaker deserves its name. Thus, it should be able to automatically adjust its sound to your own position. So you can decide completely flexible how you want to position the Soundlink. No matter if lying, standing or hanging on a hook. With the Flex, everything is supposed to be possible. However, the sound should always be equally good. In order to be able to accompany longer parties with music, Bose also promises a long-lasting battery. Up to twelve hours should be possible with a full battery charge.

As known from competitors such as UE or JBL, you should also be able to pair multiple speakers with the Soundlink Flex. This way, a rich stereo sound can be conjured out of the mono sound. Alternatively, there is also a party mode. Here you can pair several speakers with each other and play the same music over all of them. What’s cool is that you don’t necessarily need a Flex. Bose says you can also pair the outdoor speaker with the many other Bose speakers.

Price and Availability

Weighing just 600 grams, the speaker is said to be available in Black, White Smoke and Stone Blue. Those who want to grab it will be able to purchase the Soundlink Flex starting December 16. The MSRP is 169.95 euros.
