Bose presents Truly Wireless Sport Open Earbuds

Bose has introduced a new pair of wireless headphones for sports enthusiasts. However, the Truly Wireless Sport Open Earbuds are different from many other products in the segment. Thus, the company has specifically designed headphones here for the non-fans of in-ear headphones. Unlike the AirPods Pro, Sony WF-1000XM3 and the like, the latest headphones from the sound expert sit on rather than in the ear canal.

In-Ears – Either you hate them or you love them

A look at the Truly Wireless headphones market makes it clear that many manufacturers are focusing on in-ear solutions. This is not surprising. After all, a fit in the ear canal also generally guarantees a tight fit. Especially for athletes, this is the perfect solution. However, a high degree of willingness to compromise is demanded of many wearers of such headphones. After all, not everyone likes the headphones that stick deep in the ear. They find the fit too uncomfortable, the shielding from the outside world too insecure.

Bose has designed its new small headphones specifically for these individuals. With the Truly Wireless Sport Open Earbuds, something other than the ear canal is supposed to provide support. The manufacturer relies on a bracket, which more or less clings to the ear cup. Thus, the sports headphones do not sit in the ear, but rather float above it. In end result, Bose wants to achieve a great sound image without the wearer having to put up with the annoying side effects of in-ears.

Great sound – just for the wearer

A great advantage of in-ears is the fact that you can listen to music or podcasts undisturbed. Other people usually notice very little of it, even at a high volume. But what about the Truly Wireless Sport Open Earbuds from Bose? The manufacturer itself promises that the playback of the headphones can only be heard by the wearer, despite the open design. Besides music playback, the Truly Wireless Sport Open Earbuds should also be able to offer other features of modern True Wireless headphones.

The integrated microphones enable phone calls and the use of Siri or Google Assistant. Athletes should also be pleased with the IPX4 certification. Thus, the high-quality headphones are protected against the penetration of rain and sweat. In terms of battery life, Bose speaks of up to eight hours of runtime. However, the new headphones from Bose do not come with a charging case, which is standard in the meantime. Charged are the Truly Wireless Sport Open Earbuds instead on a separate charging stand.

Prices and availability

When and at what price the Truly Wireless Sport Open Earbuds are to be launched in this country, we do not know yet. Only on the release in the U.S. Bose has commented at the presentation. The sporty headphones will be available for purchase overseas from mid-January at an MSRP of 199.95 US dollars. Those who do not like in-ears should definitely keep an eye on this alternative.
